13,000 people have made their voices heard ✊✊ Yesterday, we took the petition urging the Scottish Government to reject plans for a new gas burning power station in Peterhead to their door. Ministers must reject this backwards development and instead focus on the solutions that we know work.

This is well worth the read and perfect timing as we are gearing up to demistify a lot about heat pumps for pools and spas this month. First things first - heat pumps are not just for heating your pool as some models, like the Raypak Crosswind V Deluxe series, can also cool your water. This especially appropriate as we are getting into the height of summer in the Southeast where high temps can reach well over 100 degree Fahrenheit which can mean bath-like water temps for many pools. Can you imagine having a pool to enjoy on those hot days only to dive in to warm water? We can’t either. And many people who already have traditional heaters might not think investing in a heat pump is worth it, but having a heat pump can both extend your summer season by cooling, but also efficiently extend your pool season by heating your pool when it may not be as cost friendly to use your gas heater. You could make up for your initial investment pretty quickly while also extending your pool season. So maybe you’re in a state like Texas, Louisiana, or Tennessee - and think a heat pump isn’t appropriate for your needs, but if you understand what they can do to extend your pool season and maximize usage throughout most of the year - you may reconsider. And if you’re in Texas - watch out here as we are running Heat Pump trainings later this month in Houston, Austin, and DFW. We’re on a mission to help our customers understand and explain the full benefits of having a heat pump as part of your pool setup.
Heat pumps are revolutionizing how we heat and cool our homes and businesses by slashing energy consumption and cutting emissions. Karen Meyers, Vice President of Government Affairs, addresses decarbonization’s influence in the July issue of PHCPPros. https://lnkd.in/gspRpGbi

The EPA’s power plant rule jeopardizes the ability of rural electric cooperatives to keep the lights on at a cost consumers can afford. Because cooperatives must make business decisions now to comply with the rule, it will have immediate and irreparable consequences. This election was decisive for the green agenda. Net zero was not a wedge issue and there was no culture war on it. Green growth was number 2 of Labour's pledges and they didn't row back on key net zero commitments. Voters repeatedly back green policies. They know that renewables are not only key to combating climate change, but are cheaper and more secure. And who wants kids, old people, indeed anyone to breathe in the particulates from burning fossil fuels? We now need more societal stakeholders and media figures to understand how popular this is, and cut down on the manufactured nonsense stories about EVs and heat pumps. The energy transition will be key to Britain's economic future. Investment will deliver jobs, growth and government income now - and deliver cheaper more secure energy for households and industry as it's deployed. Without rapid progress, companies will invest overseas - not just energy infrastructure, but data centres and energy intensive industries will locate in countries where clean cheap electricity is rapidly available. As well as dealing with the bureaucracies for building stuff, we desperately need locational pricing so consumers and business benefit from cheaper power, and price signals help us invest in the right places. With this, every region would be cheaper than today and Scotland would have the cheapest power in Europe. With rapid reform of planning, grid bureaucracy and energy markets, companies can work with the government to deliver.
I think we all saw this election result coming but I did not expect to see Greg Jackson on the BBC this morning - a welcome surprise! In Greg's words, there are £100s of Billions waiting to be invested in the UK Renewble Energy market. His advice to the new government? Let's get on with it!

This man is on a mission. A very important mission for all of us. The political parties have all been complicit in confused (populist rather than pragmatic) policy making/rhetoric regarding our energy requirements. In all of our interactions with those who simply don't get the seriousness of the situation, we should take the opportunity to dispel the common myths around the legitimacy of the Energy Profits Levy before more operators/investors vote with their feet and invest their money elsewhere. #100DaysToSave100000Jobs #energy #enerytransition
The future of the North Sea has been front and centre of the General Election campaign today as political leaders react to the Chamber's Energy Transition report. I had the pleasure (😬) of a 6.05am interview live on BBC Radio Scotland this morning before our report was put to Labour, the SNP, the Lib Dems and the Conservatives.
