UAB Švyturys - Utenos alus has been recognised as the leader of Lithuania's food industry by the expert team of Verslo žinios! It has become a norm for our company to maintain a leading position among brewers in the country year after year. However, even this leadership did not fall into our lap – we achieved, sustained, and continually proved it through consistent daily efforts. Now UAB Švyturys - Utenos alus has been acknowledged as the leader of the entire food industry sector. We are extremely proud of this new achievement! In this ranking, not only were our revenue and profit indicators evaluated, but also our reputation, wage levels, and the relevance of the topics we communicate to the public – in our case, sustainability and innovation. For us, sustainability is not just a promise but an action. Next year, we will become one of the first to use solar energy with an advanced storage system – our entire production will operate without additional CO2 emissions, and our PET bottles will contain 30% recycled plastic, exceeding EU standards. 🌿 We are not only beer masters but also innovation leaders. And with this passion, we continue strengthening our positions in Lithuania and beyond! Read more: https://bit.ly/3BS0JyZ

It was a real honour to be part of The Feeling’s Mutual panel at this year’s Co-Op Congress, alongside some really talented people from some of the UK’s most recognised and respected organisations. Arla is a cooperative at its heart, and nothing is more important to us than ensuring that our farmers get paid a fair price for their milk so we can make affordable, accessible and nutritious products available. Taking part in this panel, and some of the great discussions we had, is one of the ways we’re showing our commitment to the cooperative movement. Being a cooperative enables businesses to act more fairly, and to make long-term decisions that do good in the world, free from short-term cyclical thinking. This model has a critical role to play in the future, as consumers demand fairer and more functioning markets that focus on responsibility as well as profit.

📰 Have you seen Fonterra’s press release? So far they’ve contracted 10,000 tonnes of product under the Free Trade Agreement, most of this being cheddar⁉️ What impact will this have on English and Irish #cheese 🧀? Big kudos to #Fonterra for being the original leaders in price transparency with the GDT auction, which has been the global price setter for years! 🙌 But it’s time for more transparency from Irish and English dairy processors. Plus we need mandatory price reporting so that we know exactly what price products have been sold at and the milk price that should be on the back of it. The press release also shares that customers want to embrace 🇳🇿 New Zealand's sustainability, but shipping cheese halfway across the globe? 🌏 Hmm... 😳 Read the Press Release here: https://lnkd.in/eNkKa4Pk. The HEINEKEN Company's decision to clear a 300-acre orchard in Monmouthshire… Has sparked concern about the future of cider production and its impact on the environment. Strongbow and Bulmers owner Heineken claims to have followed regulations… And emphasises its commitment to responsible and sustainable actions🌏 → Selling the orchard fits with what's happening more broadly in the UK cider industry. Where people have been drinking less cider over the last ten years. Heineken explains that they had too many apples and the orchard was only good for making cider. So they decided to use the land for different crops instead. What are your thoughts on these decisions? Will the decrease in cider consumption continue? https://lnkd.in/gQ7HY5yp
