🤔 The US Senate Ag committee has the data back from BLS, and while a couple of products have a minor amount of "shrinkflation," most all of the increase in price is "inflation." That is, the value of the dollar decreasing, most often caused by introducing new dollars or debt into the system. 💸 It may be for the products having minor shrinkflation (dark blue) that the manufacturers have to work within certain metrics and sizes, for various stages in the production process and to fit on the shelves. At the end, they may charge a little more to cover the cost of the loss of efficiency (it is common to have more efficiency with larger sizes, and retooling and repackaging is expensive). One experiences those efficiency savings when shopping at the club member stores. One experiences the height of expensive smaller products when shopping the TSA-approved items at the convenience store. As well, the stores may have more labor, loss, and other expense involved when warehousing and stocking shelves with more, smaller items. Thank you to John C.
