This week, the physical market for Chana experienced a decline of 1-3% on average, largely due to the imposition of stock limits on Chana, including Kabuli varieties. This led to some panic selling. Currently, Chana (Rajasthan origin) is trading at INR 6,950 per quintal in Delhi and INR 6,650 per quintal in Bikaner. According to AgriWatch, prices are expected to remain within a range for the time being before potentially increasing in the future, considering the tight supply and anticipated demand from July onwards. #chana #marketinsights #commoditymarkets #agriculture #marketanalysis For a more comprehensive analysis and detailed insights, we invite you to explore further at www.agriwatch.com. Ankush Thalia and I were at a sugar conclave last weekend hosted by AISTA (not that we are engaged in this commodity but just from a learning PoV). Therefore I thought of running an analysis on sugarcane from our database. While going through the dataset it was astonishing to see that sugarcane as a crop had the maximum number of agri-chemical advisory reachouts from agri-input retailers towards farmers compared to any other crop. While hearing from many erudite people at the conclave on improving yields, perhaps pest attacks certainly seem to be the primary reasons for lower yields in our country for sugarcane. Sharing some of the commons diseases along with top brand used to mitigate the pest at geography level - Top Shoot Borer (Scirpophaga excerptalis) - Brands being promoted rather than the direct chemical composition - Bijnor, UP - Virtako (Syngenta) and Lapidos (Adama) - Moradabad, UP - Feterra (FMC) and Lapidos (Adama) Red Rot (Glomerella tucumanensis) - No brands being promoted but direct chemicals (Thiophinate methyl and Tricoderma) Termite - Brands being promoted rather than the direct chemical composition - Bulandshahr, UP - Chlocaps + Spike (SML) and Regent (Bayer) - Kolhapur, MH - Metri (Tata) and Coragen (FMC) P.S - not an expert on crop advisory - just sharing factual data points. Prediction of Turmeric Market As we know Turmeric price remain at bottom rates for the last 3 years ..which was discouraging for All farmers. So farmers have planted less Turmeric this year and as result the new crop this year during February n March of all producing area like Kaddapa, Nizam, Dugirara , Busmut , Sangali And Erod will be 35 to 40pct less compared to last year's. After receiving new crop reports the current price of Turmeric finger All varieties have gone up during last 2 weeks and even during last 2 days! For your information the Turmeric price have already gone up and it likely to go further up by April / May 2024. Well the price will not be crazy ( increse ) like cumin last year!. #Utmost_Overseen
