In my daily interactions with friends and supporters from the USA through the Ngao Foundation, I'm consistently moved by their unwavering commitment to our initiatives. Whenever I ask them why they support our work, the response is always the same: "It is the right thing to do." This simple yet profound statement reflects the pure-hearted kindness that they have not just adopted but deeply embedded within themselves. Witnessing this dedication, I've endeavored to cultivate the same spirit of kindness within myself, embracing the belief that helping others is indeed the right thing to do. Whether it's assisting a neighbor in need, providing for a hungry child, advocating for victims of injustice, or aiding those affected by floods, embracing kindness and extending a helping hand is not just a gesture – it's a moral imperative. In a world often filled with strife and uncertainty, embodying this ethos of compassion and solidarity becomes a beacon of hope. It transcends boundaries, cultures, and differences, uniting us in a shared commitment to making the world a better place for all. So, to all my American friends and supporters, and to anyone who believes in the power of kindness and the importance of lending a helping hand, thank you for reminding us that supporting initiatives like the Ngao Foundation isn't just about charity; it's about doing what is right, what is humane, and what is essential for the betterment of humanity. Together, let's continue to spread kindness, one act at a time.

Passionate about encouraging others to persevere, managing editor of the Drive for Five network, advocate for earlier detection of Amyloidosis, equity in education and displaced men.
For the past decade A Stronger Cord's mission has been helping displaced men build new and healthier relationships as they work the comeback trail from incarceration, recovery and homelessness. Our thinking has always been, "You need new friends on this journey ahead. Going back to prior influences are only going to drag you down." Relationships. For ASC's band of knucklehead volunteers, it's all about building relationships with guys in the Denver Rescue Mission's New Life Program and other programs. Build a relationship, earn some trust and then assist the men in building a stronger cord to their families, purpose and communities. Yesterday at Aurora's Stanley Market, two incredible ASC volunteers hanging with a current member of the Mission's NLP program. Marcus, Ted and Johnathan. It takes time, commitment and a tough skin. Success is far from guaranteed. When talking to potential "Comeback Coaches" interested in volunteering? I tell 'em, "It's like baseball. If you help 3 out of 10 we're doing pretty well." We're working to improve those numbers. Wanna possibly help? In that 45-60 range, kids are grown, looking for a way to give back? Walk beside displaced men. We have far too many and far too many have had few, if any, positive role models in their lives. Thanks for considering. It's challenging but rewarding service. #goodbetterbest

📅 On this Martin Luther King Jr Day, we invite you to make a difference and contribute to your community through acts of service. Let's come together to celebrate Dr. King's vision of equality, justice, and compassion. 🤝 Here are some meaningful ways you can get involved: 1️⃣ Volunteer at a local organization: Dedicate a few hours of your day to support a cause close to your heart. Whether it's helping at a food bank, shelter, or community center, your time and effort will make a positive impact. 2️⃣ Organize a neighborhood clean-up: Gather your friends, family, and neighbors for a day of cleaning up parks, streets, or other public spaces. 3️⃣ Spread kindness: Small acts of kindness can go a long way. Reach out to a neighbor in need, donate clothes or food to those less fortunate, or simply lend a listening ear to someone who could use it.] 4️⃣ Educate and inspire: Take this opportunity to learn more about the Civil Rights Movement and Dr. King's impactful work. Share his powerful speeches, quotes, and teachings on social media, sparking conversations and promoting awareness. 5️⃣ Support local businesses: Show your support for businesses owned by underrepresented communities. Hi Everyone, Welcome to Becoming Grace Foundation! I am the founder and taking the brave step of sharing just a little about my story. I may not say everything perfectly, but it takes small steps to BECOME a voice in the community. This is my WHY and what I am working towards while also learning the legalities and limitations of nonprofit work within DV community. With 7 years experience in the nonprofit field starting at Habitat to the Food Bank, I am excited to create change in this new division on nonprofit work. After living the experience first hand, all my strategic knowledge in nonprofit work, and a small starting fund through my fathers passing, if I did not try then who would? We have to start thinking of domestic abuse differently because the world has changed. It stretches beyond physical, leaving even longer-lasting damage to families with economic, financial, technology, psychological, and emotional abuse. This stretches even farther than all of the physical needs, it can save individuals from suicide or possible homicide when support the DV community. Its giving hope and a way forward showing what the bare minimum is for human decency. I hope that you join me in my effort as I connect with the nonprofits already doing amazing work, the families, the industry professionals and YOU! I cannot wait to see what mighty change we make together as I dig deeper in creative and sustainable solutions :) https://lnkd.in/gwg74fmX

We often talk about being kind to the people around us, and how empathy must be developed in order for us to become better human beings who can in return identify with the society. At workplace or anywhere in life, empathy tends to start with treating everyone with equal respect, putting yourself in their shoes, perceiving the world from their perspective, experiencing their emotions, and so forth. But do we truly pause and reflect on the famous saying, "Charity begins at home"? The idea of developing empathy for people around us or the society for that matter can only flourish when self-kindness is practiced at every stage of life, being compassionate and understanding towards self, practicing forgiveness at every stage of life without being harsh on yourself is a very beautiful way which leads to self-care and love. My approach to self-kindness has evolved to include respecting my decisions, acknowledging the emotions and experiences life has showered me with and the little acts of kindness towards self, like giving myself a big hug after a tough day, talking to self with utmost respect, appreciation for the littlest accomplishments in everyday life and practicing healthy criticism towards self while lifting myself up at the same, has truly helped me strengthen the relationship with myself while building the lost trust again and viewing myself as a primary source of support. I advocate prioritizing kindness and love for myself first and then for the people around because most often we want to give respect and love to the community, when we truly don't have enough of it within ourselves (could be due to questioning your worth as an individual where you feel you are not enough). After all, how can we give something we don't have enough of? I truly believe that developing compassion for people around including yourself, leads to creating a positive cycle of goodwill and compassion in one's professional/personal life and beyond. In essence, cultivating kindness in both directions, towards yourself and towards others, creates a more empathetic and supportive environment that benefits everyone involved. With this, happy weekend! 😊
