We’re in the Final Stretch: Let’s Leap Over This Hurdle Together! As the sun sets on AZ Gives Day, we're inspired by the support we have seen from families and our supporters. One hurdle stands before us in reaching our goal for the Downtown East location. A therapy pad between two children's chairs—symbolizes more than just an obstacle. It represents the daily challenges our kids face and overcome daily in therapy as well as the hurdles we're trying to clear in fundraising to support their journeys. Your support has already brought us so far, but we're reaching out for one final push from the community. 👶👧🧒 The Children's Advocacy Center provides vital support and resources to children and families who have experienced trauma or abuse. We believe that every child deserves love, care, and a chance to heal. Pawsitively Bears Day #1: The inception of Teddy Bears with Heart traces back to a personal challenge during my divorce. Faced with the dilemma of what to do with 450 bears stored in boxes that I had collected through the beanie bear craze, a conversation with a friend who happened to be a fire captain sparked the initiative. I didn't want to throw the bears away, he volunteered to take a few off of my hands. I then started thinking, who else could use bears so I started looking. I have always been one of those who "see a need, fill a need" kind of people. As TBWH grew we decided we wanted to be a non-profit. At the time it cost a lot so I did some online research and found Good Bears of the World. They have been in business since the 70s and did exactly what I wanted to do. I contacted them and they agreed to let us be a Den. Since 2008 we have given out over 200,000 stuffed animals and are gifting to first responders and other agencies in over six counties, not to mention throughout the U.S. and Internationally, when we can. The primary mission of Teddy Bears with Heart is to provide comfort to children in crisis, the forgotten elderly, and the terminally ill. Importantly, TBWH emphasizes our commitment to being a resource during times of genuine need, steering away from serving as mere Christmas gifts, prizes, or incentives. It gives us the ability to hone in on the exact actions we need to perform to achieve everything we desire in life. No. 1: Dig deep. Ask questions instead of creating conclusions. Questions lead to growth and expansion; conclusions lead to dead ends. No. 2: Limit the association. Take a look at your priorities and your values. Spend major time with major influences and minor time with minor influences. Whoever you are, no matter how much or how little you have, your gift matters. The smallest, seemingly unimportant, donation can transform a life. And the best news is that giving transforms two lives: the one who receives and the one who gives.

Our impact report for the month of April is here! First things first - it’s not just about the numbers; it's about the lives we touch. Together, we've donated 1,119 items in April, reaching out to those in need and making a tangible difference in their lives. Every donation counts, and every act of giving creates a ripple effect of positivity. This month, we received 49 donations, each one a testament to the compassion and empathy of our supporters. Though slightly fewer than March's 65 donations, the impact remains just as profound. Our efforts have directly benefitted 533 residents, providing them with essentials and necessities they may have otherwise gone without. Looking forward, we see 283 open needs as of May 6, a significant increase from the 77 in March. But with each need comes an opportunity for us to make a difference, to extend a helping hand, and to spread hope and kindness. None of this would be possible without YOU - our amazing community of donors, volunteers, and supporters. Your dedication, generosity, and passion drive our mission forward, and for that, we are endlessly grateful.
