A glimpse into the meticulous installation of a new thatch roof on one of our prestigious Cotswolds listed building projects. It's a mesmerizing process, executed with unique skill by the thatcher—a craft that has changed very little over time (thatching is one of the oldest roofing materials used by humans!). With historic properties – especially those that are listed – renovation and extension work always has to take into account those aspects of the building that cannot change, whether that’s due to regulations, structural integrity, or because it would simply be unthinkable to do so.
