Generally, you can only drop Part A (Hospital Insurance) if you have to pay a premium for it, also called Premium-Part A. There are some risks to dropping coverage: - Your costs for health care: You may have to pay all of the costs for services that Medicare covers, like hospital stays, doctors’ services, medical supplies, and preventive services. - Gap in coverage: If you change your mind and want to sign up again later, you may have to wait until the next General Enrollment Period (January 1-March 31 each year) to sign up. Your coverage won’t start until July 1. - Late enrollment penalty: If you don’t qualify for a Special Enrollment Period to get Medicare later, you’ll have to pay a monthly late enrollment penalty for as long as you have Part B coverage. The penalty goes up the longer you go without Part B coverage. If you have to pay a penalty for Part A, you’ll pay it for twice as long as you go without Part A coverage. To voluntarily terminate your Medicare Part B (medical insurance) you may need to have a personal interview. Also a Social Security representative will help you complete Form CMS 1763.

From Today’s “Mail on Sunday” - News that King Charles and Princess of Wales surprisingly WON’T have to wait for NHS appointments for their medical treatment ! - Why ? They simply have private medical insurance to whisk them past the queues. - So ? It may seem unfair but this type of cover doesn’t necessarily cost the royal purse that much.. - Cost ? By including an excess, a decent plan premium can cost from as a little as £35 a month* >Message me for a free consultation/quote. Even if you already have cover, you can always reduce the premium to make it more affordable. *Cost is age related. #PMI #msg07487555025 #value4money

When you buy private health insurance, you have to decide what type of cover you need: Hospital Cover, Extras Cover, Ambulance Cover or all. You can buy different types of cover separately or combine Hospital Cover and Extras Cover in one policy. Sometimes Hospital Cover and Extras Cover policies include Ambulance Cover. Here's what each kind of Cover includes: 1. Hospital Cover helps you pay for some or all of the cost of treatment as: • a private patient in a private hospital • a private patient in a public hospital • a private patient in a day hospital. 2. Extras Cover helps you pay for medical and allied health services that you receive outside hospital and Medicare does not cover. Some examples include: • Chiropractic • General Dental • Optical (glasses and contact lenses) • Physiotherapy. 3. Ambulance Cover helps you pay for the cost of an ambulance if you live in a state or territory that does not provide a free ambulance service. Is it possible to purchase separate outpatient coverage for General Practitioner and Specialist visits with personal medical insurance? Lately, several employees have inquired about purchasing their own coverage for General Practitioner and Specialist services. I decided to share it since this is a FAQ. Personal medical insurance typically does not provide coverage for General Practitioner (GP) and Specialist benefits without admission due to the individualized nature of these policies. Personal plans often focus on catastrophic or major medical coverage, prioritizing expenses related to hospitalization, surgeries, and emergency care rather than routine or outpatient services. In contrast, group medical insurance which covers a larger pool of individuals, such as employees and their dependents, often includes coverage for both GP and Specialist visits without admission. Group plans aim to provide comprehensive healthcare benefits to support the well-being of the entire workforce. By covering GP and Specialist visits, group medical insurance promotes preventive care, early detection of health issues, and ongoing management of chronic conditions, ultimately fostering overall health and reducing healthcare costs over time. Therefore, while personal medical insurance prioritizes major medical expenses, group medical insurance emphasizes preventive and ongoing care services to meet the diverse health needs of employees and their families. Does your company provides outpatient benefits?
