“What is a cupola anyways?” Is a question I get a lot when I introduce myself & my company to people. A cupola is the highest structure on top of a roof – usually round or octagonal. They often have pillars, decorative caps, or windows. You typically see them on historic structures or on barns. Cupolas provide extra light & air movement to the top floor of a building. Most importantly, as the highest point on a building - they’re a lookout, allowing people to see farther into the distance. (George Washington built a cupola on Mount Vernon to admire the Potomac River) Why did you name your company Cupola? One of my personal values & the company's value is connection. In honor of my Swedish heritage, I looked up the translation of connection, which is koppla. This created a link to the English spelling, cupola. Pronounced: koo-puh-luh. I have a passion for historic preservation & have always loved the architectural details of cupolas. Naming the company Cupola CX seemed like a perfect way to marry my heritage, history, & passion into one. When I partner with clients I take their Customer Experiences to New Heights! What’s the story behind your company’s name? What would you name a new company?

Today is World Braille Day! This holiday, celebrated on January 4th for Louis Braille's birthday, aims to raise awareness of how important it is to provide information in accessible formats, such as braille. Alt Text: The background of the image is a light grey-beige. There is an overlay on top of the grey-beige background that has many colors of green geometric lines and dots, reminiscent of a circuit board. In the top right corner there is the Tatum Robotics logo which consists of 4 green vertical lines parallel to each other, slightly staggered. In the center of the image there is black text that reads "World Braille Day". Below this text there is an image of two hands reading braille from a book with white pages. Underneath the image there is black text that reads "January 4th".

One thing that’s really good about #braille is that teaching it to both blind and sighted people is now easier than ever, thanks to electronic Braille. With Braille tablets (Also known as Braille notetakers) it means no fussing around with braille paper, and although the cost of Braille tablets is high, they are built to last. Moreover, if you want to teach Braille to a sighted person, you can use a Refreshable Braille display with a computer or tablet, so they can see what the print and Braille looks like. Alternatively, some Braille tablets such as the BrailleSense allow you to see a graphical representation of the Braille when connected to a monitor, so you can see both print and Braille on the same screen.
