💙 Maxibon has been raising funds for Beyond Blue since 2019, helping all people in Australia to achieve their best possible mental health. In a time where people have never been more lonely, young Aussies are feeling this epidemic more strongly than other generations. Maxibon is all about fostering what we call ‘Maxi-Bonding’ between Maxi-Fans – the art of sharing a Maxibon together. In the digital world, this has extended to the sharing of a Maxibon-related memes across our social media platforms. Check it out from this week on Maxibon Australia's TikTok account – and maybe even send one to your mate!

Running For Dignity: Miles with Meaning 🌄 In 2024, my wife and I took on a bold goal: running 5,000 kilometres together to raise funds for Hong Kong's Dignity Kitchen, a social enterprise empowering those with disabilities and other challenges. They give people skills and purpose—a mission close to our hearts. As social enterprises rely on community support, every step we take is a call for awareness and open donations. But this journey taught me more than just endurance. During a race, I faced a major setback: I had to withdraw, totally underprepared in terms of hydration and fuelling. That experience shook me and sparked a new purpose behind “Running For Dignity.” Now, we're sharing hydration and fuelling insights for runners of all levels to help them stay strong on their journeys, too. “Running For Dignity” is about pushing boundaries for a cause, sharing what we’ve learned, and inviting you to be part of something meaningful. Join us, support Dignity Kitchen, or simply follow along for insights that help all of us go the extra mile—literally and figuratively. 🌍 #RunningForDignity #TrailRunning #SocialImpact #HydrationAndFuel #SupportLocal

Nine years ago, I grew a moustache to support the Movember Foundation. My stubble and struggle eventually grew into something more beautiful: the formation of the 'Capital Gainz' team (moustache beauty subject to personal views). Together, we've grown a movement committed to practicing wellness, initiating conversations on mental health, and raising funds for Movember. The Capital Gainz team encourages participants during November to build/stop a habit by committing to doing/not doing at least one activity per day that supports mental health and wellbeing. Last year, over 85 people participated in the Capital Gainz 30 Day Challenge. We tracked various activities like running, walking, reading, writing, and socializing, among others. How to Participate: - Find a group of friends, family, or coworkers and copy the template (see comments) to take private, track your progress, and encourage your crew (feel free to adapt it to suit your group's needs) Optional: - Sign up on the Movember team page and donate/ask for donations: https://lnkd.in/eMaFpmZ - Grow a moustache We start November 1st so please take time to think about your goal and reach out if you have any questions. Thanks for your support! Let's grow 🌱👨

Content warning: this video contains discussion of suicide. ⚡️ANNOUNCEMENT ⚡️Here's the moment we reveal the amount raised by YOU, the Omaze Community to Campaign Against Living Miserably 💚 People affected by suicide joined us for the reveal, alongside CALM Patron Romesh Ranganathan, and CEO Simon Gunning for a truly emotional reveal. 🥹 The amount raised will ensure CALM can continue to fund their life-saving helpline, answering more calls to help people find hope and a reason to stay, keeping more families and loved ones together. 🫶 Simon from CALM said: "We knew this partnership with Omaze would be game-changing for us, but this is way beyond what we imagined. At a time when our services have never been needed more, this money will be vital in ensuring people get the support they need to end their misery, not their lives. We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who entered the Devon House Draw. 🙏 It just goes to show what happens when you do something omazing. 💛 *CALM is there for anyone struggling with life. Did you know that we lose a construction worker every second day to suicide? As an industry that focuses on improving worker safety, it's shocking to learn that construction workers are six times more likely to die from suicide than an accident at work. Unsurprisingly, most of these victims are also men. Throughout May, I'll be taking on the physical and fundraising challenge of the MATES Big Lap. MATES in Construction are a dedicated, integrated industry intervention program, committed to reducing the suicide rates within the construction industry. The work they do is powerful, direct and genuinely life SAVING. My goal is to track my activity kilometres in the month of May, while raising awareness and funds for MATES. If you could spare a dollar or two to help support MATES in Construction, and the incredible work they do, please do take a moment to donate on the link below OR get in touch with MIC to join the fight against suicide and mental health challenges in our industry. #construction #industrysupport #menshealth #mentalhealth #fundraising #awareness

For this year's Movember my focus is on mental health. Please know that the information below may be triggering and it is important that if you are experiencing thoughts of self harm, please reach out to local resources. Did you know that according to the Canadian Public Health statistics that males in the age group of 35-49 (My age range) have a suicide rate of 23.4/100,000 of population compared to 6.8/100,000 for females. This is a staggering statistic. What is interesting though is that males are less likely to be hospitalized for self-inflicted injuries than females are with a comparison of 46 for males to 60 for females per 100,000 population. Movember is a movement to bring more awareness to Men's physical and mental health. Typically a moustache is grown to show support and raise funds for programs to help support those in need. I am going to Shave my beard of 4 years to show my support. Please consider donating to my campaign using the link below. If you're not aware, my beard is about 12" long and no one has seen my bare face in over 4 years. https://lnkd.in/gtmNiMde

𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙖 𝙗𝙞𝙜 𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙚. "𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐧𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡." I remembered that at camp we were told about a guy by the name of Ola. The young man served in a local village in Kwara State. In this village, people had to suffer by walking long distances before they could get water to drink. He decided to use his position as a Corps member to help these people by bringing clean water to this community. With just a few friends and a determined heart, he started a small initiative to raise funds for a borehole. Some of his friends laughed at his ambitious goal, but Ola persisted. Little by little, he was able to convince people in the city, even strangers that he knew had the money. With every contribution, he got closer to his reality. Finally, after months of hard work, Ola and his team built the borehole. The villagers, who had previously struggled with water-borne diseases, now had access to clean water. Their health improved, and their lives were transformed. Ola's story is a testament to the power of small actions. It shows that even in the face of overwhelming challenges, we can make a difference. 𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦'𝘴 𝘥𝘢𝘺, 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦. So, what can you do to make an impact in your community? Maybe it's volunteering at a local orphanage, mentoring a young person, or simply offering a kind word to someone in need. I'm rallying support for a cause that's deeply personal and significant - combatting domestic abuse. At Muuto Consulting, we feel passionately about standing up for those who need it most, and now, we're extending that commitment to support survivors of domestic violence through the charity Changing Lives our charity partner. For over 50 years, Changing Lives has been a beacon of hope, changing lives and providing vital support to those affected by domestic abuse. Annually, they help approximately 14,000 individuals find safety, healing, and a path to empowerment. I am a member of the "Sole Survivors", alongside Stewart Miller, Victoria Meheust, Madeleine Hobbs. We are one of the four teams participating from Muuto Consulting (fantastically organised by Verity Hart and Catherine S.), and we're determined to make a difference. I might be biased, but I believe we're the best team out there, and we're not afraid to show it! We have committed ourselves to the 50K Your Way campaign. We're going to be walking, running, cycling, rowing, swimming, paddling, skating and skipping (potentially staggering) 50 kilometres throughout May. Some of us are choosing to aim for 1.6km (1 mile) a day Some may opt for 12km each weekend Or, as with Victoria Meheust, she's going for gold and aiming to complete all 50km in one weekend....over and over again! Here's a sneaky twist: I'm not exactly the most prolific LinkedIn user, but for those who have been sliding into my DMs wanting to talk about the organisations you represent, you'll have a much better chance of catching my eye by making a donation to this cause! It's a win-win - you get my attention, and together, we support survivors of domestic abuse. Did you know that people who have experienced domestic abuse are twice as likely to experience depression? Shockingly, 40% of homeless women state domestic abuse as a contributing factor to their situation. These statistics underscore the urgent need for action and support. Here's how your donation can directly impact lives: £50 raised: Could pay for an essential welcome pack to help someone moving into their new home after escaping domestic abuse. £150 raised: Could pay for two nights’ emergency accommodation and meals for a family fleeing domestic violence. £250 raised: Could pay for trauma-informed counselling sessions with Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVA) who provide specialist intensive support. I invite you to stand with us in this crucial cause. Donating here https://lnkd.in/d7siNsBd, spreading awareness, your support can make a world of difference. Let's be the change we wish to see in the world. Let's create a safer, more compassionate community for everyone. #StandAgainstAbuse #SupportSurvivors #EndDomesticViolence #CommunitySupport #SoleSurvivorsRule #MuutoConsulting

Why Grassroots Charities Are Vital for Mental Health and Community Resilience... In recognition of #WorldMentalHealthDay, my latest article, published yesterday, highlights the essential role grassroots charities play in supporting mental health and building stronger communities. Unlike larger organisations, grassroots initiatives, like #VillagehoodAustralia, offer personalised, community-driven solutions. Our peer support programs provide mothers facing mental health challenges with a safe space to connect and heal, making a lasting impact on individuals and society. Grassroots charities are agile, cost-effective, and deeply rooted in their communities, but they often struggle with limited funding. Now, more than ever, it’s critical to invest in these local initiatives to create long-term social and economic benefits. If you or your organisation would like to support our mission of improving #maternalmentalhealth, let’s connect! Together, we can expand our impact and ensure no mother faces her mental health challenges alone. You can find the article here: https://lnkd.in/gy9nW2HX

𝙏𝙃𝘼𝙉𝙆 𝙔𝙊𝙐 𝙒𝘼 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙯𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙪𝙨𝙝-𝙐𝙥 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧! Those who chose to #PushForLifelineWA raised an incredible $155,572. It is a phenomenal amount - enough to train 38 Telephone Crisis Supporters! Shout out to all of those legends who challenged themselves to 3,249 push-ups over 24 days and the wider WA community who donated in support of each of these fundraisers. We'd like to acknowledge all of corporate partners who pushed alongside us in their own workplaces and organisations and shared their journey with us. 3,249 push-ups represents the number of deaths by suicide across Australia in 2022. It's a polarising number. There are many challenges in life that can have an impact on individuals and a community. Whether the impact is minimal or significant, we should never underestimate the power we have to connect with another person and make a positive difference in their lives. We certainly believe that The Push-Up Challenge helps us achieve this. We acknowledge the team at The Push-Up Challenge for their continued support and commitment to improving mental health across Australia and for nominating us as one of the key beneficiaries of this nationwide event. We can't wait for next year's challenge! #PushForLifelineWA #PushForbetter #MentalHealth #CrisisSupport #SuicidePrevention #WesternAustralia
