CTS lead, Nick Badger summarises some of the key benefits of our closed transfer system and how it’s helping sprayer operators to work more safely and efficiently. Visitors to LAMMA Show can find Nick on the Frontier stand in Hall 11, where he’s talking through the mechanics of the system and the range of crop protection products and nutrients it works with - a portfolio that’s increasingly growing through our partnerships with ag-chem suppliers and manufacturers. #CropProtection #ClosedTransferSystem #LAMMA25

HWSC: Not new, just proven. While some talk about HWSC as a new solution, the data tells us it’s been delivering results for over two decades. Check out this long-term study from WA (2002-2011) by Peter Newman: 📊 Growers nominated ‘‘problem paddocks’’ with high (35 to 50 plants / m2) in-crop annual ryegrass densities for this focus paddock study. The results? 👉 Herbicides alone struggle to maintain low ryegrass populations. 👉 Herbicides + HWSC? Drastic, sustained reductions in weed densities across cropping fields. What does this mean for farmers? ✅ Flexibility in crop choice. ✅ Resilience against further herbicide resistance. ✅ Seedbank reductions for future growing seasons. HWSC isn’t the latest fad—it’s the backbone of a long-term integrated weed management strategy that helps control weed populations. If you're interested in targeted application technologies, check out this #WiscWeeds article to learn more about the importance of boom height and nozzle selection.
New #WiscWeeds article by Zaim Ugljic: Targeted Herbicide Application Technology Considerations for Improved Spray Coverage & Weed Control Main takeaways: If considering incorporating “green-on-green” targeted herbicide application technologies in your operation, understand whether multiple nozzle activation is a possibility for the technology you are considering. While single nozzle activation can yield higher foliar herbicide savings, it may result in reduced weed control when compared to multiple nozzle activation. Spraying under windy conditions can result in targeted spray swath displacement regardless of single or multiple nozzle activation, which can reduce weed control. Therefore, avoiding the deployment of the technology in windy conditions may be a good strategy. https://lnkd.in/gEbyN-cz

Potato growers should make soil sampling for potato nematodes a part of harvest plans. Small and difficult to detect, plant-parasitic nematodes are often undiagnosed because symptoms are non-specific. Knowing how many and what type of potato nematodes are present in fields helps determine the best management strategies to protect yields. See a list of diagnostic laboratories that test for potato nematodes and find helpful information about proper soil sampling. Don’t see your lab on our list?
