Next week, Virgin Atlantic's Flying Club program will move from fixed to dynamically priced redemptions, which the program promises will be the biggest change in its history. Every seat will be available to redeem or upgrade with Virgin points, and flights to New York will start from just 6,000 points, but many details are yet to be disclosed. So, will it be all good news? With the airline being 49% owned by Delta Air Lines, which now charges up to 375,000 SkyMiles for a single business class seat to New York under its dynamic pricing model, it's hard to know where the new Virgin model will sit, especially as Delta does not charge any surcharges, while Virgin's are amongst the highest in the industry. As a long-time Virgin Atlantic traveler and program member, here is what I would like to see from the upcoming changes to keep the program both attractive to members and competitive in the ever-changing loyalty landscape, from a reasonable cap on dynamic pricing to surcharge-free, points-only upgrades. https://lnkd.in/g_uT3mf5
