[MEET THE TEAM] AOTech is pleased to introduce a new member of its team, Yann COUDOURET 🔥 After graduating from the ESTACA as an automotive engineer, Yann has been working as a race engineer ever since. Motorsport felt like evidence to him. As a real petrol head since childhood, Yann followed various motorsport series and it only felt natural for him to steer his career towards this field.   Yann has been working at AOTech since 2015 and is now responsible for long term development and global overview of the #DiL (Driver in Loop) activities & customers. His role at AOTech is to be aware of the newest simulator technologies to make sure AOTech stays one of the best simulators available for motorsport customers. Yann also follows the long-term customers and makes sure their needs are perfectly fulfilled. Finally, he steers the AOTech company into constant improvement on all aspects such as DiL operations, DiL updates or customer needs. Thanks to his past experiences, Yann can make the most out of a DiL operation day as he’s used to working on-track. As a manager, his daily tasks are mainly to stay aware of what is going on and to interfere only if things are getting out of control. He also has other projects to manage daily with ART Grand Prix. When asked about key moments and challenges, Yann mentions a high stakes contract between AOTech and an important tyre manufacturer which led to a huge simulator upgrade. The biggest challenges at AOTech are to always make sure to follow the industry evolution and keep your network well maintained. What are the #keys to success? To succeed in this role, you have to be a sensible manager and ensure everyone is working to his full potential. You need to make sure your team meets the high level of commitment and strictness motorsport requires. Motorsport is a challenging but rewarding environment. As a young engineer, you need to make sure your technical knowledge is excellent. Human relationship is also an important part of the job as you need to extract the most out of a driver in every condition. And last but not least : don’t be afraid of small companies! A 1000cc #mini #cooper #s from mid #1960s. The #cooper bit comes from the #legendary John Cooper who worked alongside the #BritishMotorCorporation and also was behind the #F1 feeder program #FormulaJunior. So, what's interesting about this? It starts way before the 1960s. #JohnCooper had a lot of involvement in the #performance #tuning of the #ASeries engine since it's launch in the early #1950s. Using his connections at #BMC he managed to persuade #management to let him take a yet #unnamed #prototype car using this engine down to the Italian Grand Prix, alongside him driving was the legend #RoySalvadori. This #unknown car managed to beat an #AstonMartin over one of the mountain passes. Whilst at the #race meeting they bumped into #AurelioLampredi, who had previously been chief engineer at #Ferrari who asked "What is this car and can I try it?". He set off driving on the roads around #Monza. Half hour later he returned. What did the Ferrari engineer say about the unknown car? "You know John (Cooper), if that car wasn't so ugly I'd shoot myself. This is the future car...". This prototype was a #Mini #850 with a bog standard A-Series engine. The road handling set it apart. The engine could be improved. A meagre 34HP and with a few simple #tuning tricks you could get another 20HP. The story began... This all got me thinking about #now and #then. I entered the workforce in the #1970s so I can relate totally to these #engineers and their #MO. These three decades, 50s, 60s, and 70s #engineers were the stuff of #legends. They themselves had been #apprentices to legends. Their #actions involved calculated #risk for huge #gain. Imagine asking your #boss today to borrow a prototype to take to #Italy. This is how #stuff got #done back then. Fewer #rules helped. #Knowledge across #multidiscipline teams helped to cross fertilise new #ideas. Engineers whilst #specialising #deep were also #wide in knowledge across other diverse #fields. Today, it's too #specialised with limited #communication or #skills in across areas, also too #deep and #narrow. #Time for a #turnaround?

Last week, Bugatti Rimac unveiled their new vehicle, the Bugatti Tourbillon—a remarkable piece of engineering built to last for decades. A timeless machine. Big shoutout to the Bugatti Rimac team and all their partners for their fantastic work. 🚗 👏 👏 This got me thinking... Most of us don't realize the massive amount of effort and teamwork it took to create this car. We often just admire the finished product, not thinking about the journey it took to get there. Bugatti Rimac has announced they'll deliver this car to customers by end of 2026, and that means even more hard work for next 2 years to make it happen! 🚨 We tend to overlook the efforts behind the things we take for granted every day. Everything we achieve, whether in business, sports, or our personal lives, comes from a process backed by hard work. Take tennis stars like Federer, Djokovic, and Nadal, for example. They're not just talented; they've worked incredibly hard to be the best. Talent or idea are just one (very) small piece on the road to success. 👈 👈 The same goes for software development—it's not just about having a good idea, but also putting in the effort to make it succeed, paying attention to those small details, planning on time, being ahead of the issues, competitors etc. 👩💻 ⚡ Good results are never a coincidence, especially over the long term. [FAILED] BIG EURO TRIP This #challenge is failed. Failed by all companies which I try to challenge (NIO, Polestar, XPENG, Group Lotus, BYD EUROPE BYD, HONGQI Norge, GEELY, Zeekr Europe ZEEKR International). In 2 months no one give me feedback or accept this challenge, only one company (Zeekr Europe) replied, but not accepted. I tried to challenge companies which is not so popular in Europe yet. To promote they and show that EV cars is acceptable not only for city or short distance ride. https://lnkd.in/dKCiBisa Challenge is failed, but trip no. Now plan for trip is reworked and will include 6 countries, aprx. 10k km, 2-3 weeks. In this plan I will challenge my Volvo C40. Volvo is popular in Europe and this is why this company wasn't included in challenge before. But if Volvo Cars want to accept this #challenge and support us - we are open for cooperation/collaboration and ready to promote Volvo during this trip.

Thanks to Rimac, Croatia is joining the ranks of the world's most innovative automotive manufacturing nations. The cars Rimac builds are simply unique. Not only because of their price tag, but above all because of their technology – and, of course, their performance. The brand-new Nevera R is a 100% BEV with – quote Rimac – "a performance-focused battery system", which seems more than accurate when you look at only two key performance data: 2107 hp / 0-300 kmh in 8.66 seconds. Like mass-market vehicles, supercars like the Nevera R have an aftermarket. But as you would expect, there are some differences in how the aftermarket functions in the world of supercars. Supercar customers expect their vehicles to work anytime, anywhere. This comes with special demands on aftersales service and especially on diagnostics and predictive maintenance. You have to be willing to put in the time and effort! You have to be willing to do whatever it takes to succeed! Rome wasn’t built in a day, neither were the great pyramids! It was a combination of hard work, dedication and perseverance! The same applies to your personal goals! If you’ve never read the story of Soichiro Honda (1906 - 1991), take some time to look it up. Soichiro Honda was a Japanese engineer who founded the Honda Motor Co. Ltd in 1948. In his efforts to present his projects to fellow engineers and investors, Soichiro failed more times than you could possibly imagine! One would think at that point, that he would just give up! But he didn’t! Today, the Honda Motor Co. Ltd has a net worth of $46.60 billion U.S. as of November 4th, 2024 and a market cap of $4.077 trillion U.S.! This story alone should tell you something about the power of believing in yourself and never giving up! It’s not always about winning the race, but making it to the finish line! This is why I continue to emphasize in many of my social media posts, the importance of BELIEVING IN YOURSELF, STAYING FOCUSED, and above all, NEVER GIVING UP!
