📣 🔎*3 out of 4 public entity users on Pavilion are undecided on which supplier they'll buy from when they start their search on Pavilion!*🔎 📣 A common misconception I've heard from suppliers is that public entity buyers have already decided on which supplier to purchase from when they use cooperative procurement. In other words: that they have to win the business first, and having a cooperative contract just makes it easier and faster to close the sale. We recently completed a large-scale survey of public entity buyers on our platform, which has refuted this misconception. It turns out the vast majority of public servants coming to Pavilion are *undecided* about which supplier to work with, and are coming to the platform to take advantage of the cost and time-savings of piggybacking and discovery suppliers they can work with that meet their needs. This means that, as a supplier, if you're not: 🔎 Making your contracts easy to find 📃 Sharing documents and other critical information that can help buyers expedite their purchasing decision 💻 Meeting the modern public procurement professional where they're at (online!) Then you're missing out! What other misconceptions about cooperative procurement have you heard? I'll be reviewing more fact v. fiction about cooperative procurement over the coming weeks, so let me know your top-of-mind questions!

Something I see all the time in the #retailconstruction world…“low bid or bust”. Many in the industry have this mentality where they need to accept the lowest GC bid available to save their project budget. I get it, building costs across the board have gone up, but often times clients get so focused on the initial price that they forget the risks. I’ve seen countless low bids end up costing retailers 15-25% more on the final bill due to poor scheduling, workmanship, and a change order at every turn. It’s a far better long-term play to choose the right GC for a competitive price than the wrong GC to save 10% on the front-end.

Clarity in Communication- Do you want better results from your vendor relationships? Working on property walk throughs with a variety of PM's each week it is very interesting how often such an integral part of a successful community something like CLEANING is can have a poorly communicated scope or clarity of needs. NO FAULT of a property manager but I even get bid requests- 5 days a week common area! for a 288 unit property zero detail of what outcome what issues what problems faced these are price focused not community profitability focused requests. The outcome is for the same property: Some will come in with a LABOR only proposal, some with labor, supplies and equipment, some with site supervision & inspections, daily task tracking, complete cleaning design and management of the operation These are not apples to apples. WHY are you wanting service? WHAT are the RESULTS you seek to achieve at your property and HOW does cleaning fit in to those? WHAT is the cost of not having the right partner? Better questions can build a better scope and allow better communication. #communication #vendorrelationships #propertymanagement #cleaningservices #scopeofwork #communityprofitability #betterquestions
