On Wednesday evening, I received the notification that there was an update to my college application. My heart raced as I hesitantly opened it, and there, amidst virtual confetti, was a letter acknowledging my acceptance to Columbia University GS for the Fall Semester. Elated, I felt a profound sense of accomplishment. I never thought I’d be making the decision to continue my education at the University of Pennsylvania or Columbia University. As I weigh my options and await last minute information before making my final decision, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities ahead. Reflecting on the past year and a half, here are some key lessons: 1. Embrace Starting Over: Life often throws unexpected curveballs, and it’s okay to hit the reset button. Whether it’s a career change, a new educational path, or a personal reinvention, remember that starting anew can lead to remarkable growth. 2. Defy Fear-Mongers: When pursuing our dreams, well-meaning voices may caution us about risks and uncertainties. But don’t let their fears interject into your dreams. Trust your intuition and stay true to your aspirations. 3. Patience and Persistence: Sometimes progress isn’t immediate. It’s easy to feel discouraged when things don’t happen right away. But remember, seeds take time to sprout. Keep watering your dreams, even if you can’t see the results yet. 4. Believe in Yourself: Whether or not you have a cheering squad, believe in your abilities. Confidence is your secret weapon. You’re capable of achieving greatness, regardless of external support. 🖋️ Writing Journey: I’ve always enjoyed writing, and I’m excited to start sharing articles again. Stay tuned as I delve deeper into the topics I’ve briefly mentioned above! My questions for you… • Have you ever pursued a dream despite naysayers? •What’s your biggest lesson from a recent life change or challenge? •How do you stay motivated when progress seems slow? Share your thoughts—I’d love to hear from you! #HigherEducation #NextChapter #Grateful #Nontraditionalstudent #IAmPTK #Acceptanceletters #lifelessons #lifelonglearner

Yesterday, I took my son for his college interview, as he is currently studying for his GCSEs. As we were waiting, I saw this powerful quote. It resonated deeply, and I couldn’t resist sharing the inspiration with you all. In the journey of nurturing dreams, let’s remember these steps: Set Clear Goals: For my son, it’s choosing the right path post-GCSEs. Strategic Planning: Crafting a roadmap for academic and personal growth. Consistent Effort: The grind of studying and honing skills. Learning from Challenges: Embracing setbacks as opportunities for resilience. Adaptability: Flexibility in navigating educational choices. Time Management: Balancing study, activities, and a thriving social life. Guidance Seeking: Learning from experienced voices, including parents. Persistence: Tackling exams, uncertainties, and emerging stronger. With this in mind, this can apply to anyone of any age, talent or strength. If you have an ambition or goal, don’t let anyone stop you, the only person who can do that is yourself!

Do you Judge yourself ?? 🙂 I did it too with a lots and lots of overthinking sprinkled on my bits of thoughts and been through a lot of question answer sessions with myself. Let's jump back to time when I scored 84 percentiles in my 12th Boards and underrated myself like anything, I always dreamt to be admitted in DU, but God's plan. (My marks were not that good to be admitted in such a prestigious university) and also, Guess what?? Covid came with it's wide arms open, left no space to study away from your hometown, eventually I ended up graduating from one of the top universities of my city and I am still grateful for whatever happened, or is gonna happen. MORAL OF THE STORY:- First a fall Institutions doesn't make you, You make yourself, and you can always do this, either you are working, studying or wanting to achieve anything in your future or life. Also, don't consider yourself as a failure or something, you are doing a great job, you are where you need to be. Just focus on your growth, and work you are doing on a daily basis and form it according to what you expect from yourself in the coming years, without having a count. One day that will make you reach whatever you want in your life. #post #linkedin #Successcomesfromwork #Successcomesfromfocus #neveregret #collegelessons

🌟 Reflecting on an incredibly transformative chapter as a Research Assistant under the guidance of Professor Ruixiang Wang. This journey went beyond academia – it was a profound exploration of knowledge, growth, and genuine mentorship. 📖 My role wasn't just about crunching numbers or analyzing reports; it was an immersive dive into the intricacies of research, dissecting 10-K reports, navigating DEF 14A filings, and mastering the nuances of Excel. Professor Ray didn't just teach me; he ignited a passion for meticulous research and practical application. 🤝 Beyond the professional growth, the bond formed is what makes this journey truly special. Ruixiang Wang isn't just a mentor; he's been a guide, a supporter, and an inspiration. Late-night discussions, shared victories, and navigating challenges together created an unbreakable connection. 🚀 As I step into the next phase of my journey, I carry not just skills, but a legacy of wisdom imparted by an exceptional mentor. Gratitude doesn't suffice for the impact Professor Wang has had on my academic and personal growth. 🙏 Thank you for being more than a professor – for being a mentor, a supporter, and a friend. Here's to the lessons learned, the challenges overcome, and the bond forged. Wishing you all the joy and blessings as you embark on the incredible journey of parenthood. 🍼✨ #ResearchAssistant #Mentorship #Gratitude #LearningJourney #LinkedInReflections 🌐📚

🌟 **Proud Parent Moment** 🌟 I am thrilled to share a moment of immense pride as my son. Alex graduates from high school and delivers a heartfelt speech that beautifully encapsulates his journey and growth. One of his vivid memories is from a time when he stepped outside during a break, despite being told it wasn’t allowed, and accidentally broke a door. He felt a mix of shame and realization at that moment, but it also became a significant learning experience for him. This incident taught him that making mistakes is a part of life and a crucial aspect of learning and growing. In his speech, he shares this valuable lesson: “Every door we break, every mistake we make is an opportunity to learn.” Life is about taking risks, making mistakes, and turning those experiences into growth opportunities. I couldn't be prouder of his perspective and the person he has become. Please take a moment to watch this inspiring speech and join me in celebrating his achievements. #ProudParent #Graduation #LifeLessons #GrowthMindset #Opportunities

Waiting or letting go can be a painful choice, filled with doubt and uncertainty. It’s a lonely place where hope clashes with reality, leaving you questioning your instincts. Yet, within that confusion lies your strength. Listen to your heart; it knows the truth. Time will bring clarity, but don’t let uncertainty steal your joy. Whether you choose to wait or move on, own your decision. The worst feeling isn’t just not knowing; it’s allowing that uncertainty to rob you of living fully. ‘We don’t look at your A-levels or degree, but I can see here you went to the University of Oxbridge so you’re hired’ Whilst there’ll be a lot of ‘A-levels don’t matter’ drivel here today, the reality is it’s not that black and white. I agree principally they’re not everything. But if: GCSEs don’t matter A-levels don’t matter University doesn’t matter Your experience doesn’t matter Your family or your background doesn’t matter. Then what the f*k will matter. What matters most is your STORY. Which is unique to everyone. It’s more powerful. And more interesting. If you against all odds got A*A*A* through difficult life experiences, then that’s mega impactful. If you dropped out of college, skipped out of university and washed cars then built a business, that’s mega impactful. If you just about passed, but went backpacking for 6 months and learnt 3 languages along the way, that’s mega impactful. It’s about how you tell those stories that amount to whatever you achieved - however high or low those grades might be. YOUR story is far more interesting than any singular milestone or grade. But those milestones help craft YOUR story.

💌 **Reader's Submission from the Grit and Grace Community**: Hey there **#GritAndGraceTribe**, During my college years, I faced an unexpected health challenge that left me bedridden for months. My peers moved ahead, achieving milestones, while I watched from the sidelines, my dreams seemingly slipping away. During a particularly low moment, I came across a line that said, "Embrace life's unfairness as the challenge that makes you shine." This quote became my mantra. Instead of lamenting what I missed, I focused on what I could do. I took online courses, wrote a blog detailing my journey, and connected with people worldwide facing similar challenges. By the time I recovered, not only had I acquired new skills, but I had also built a community, a purpose far beyond my initial college goals. If you're facing hurdles and are searching for ways to turn adversities into opportunities to shine, this curated list of resources might be your guiding star: [https://lnkd.in/gxScGnar).
