The second of today's video diaries from Matthew Cole and thankfully the snow has been replaced by clear blue skies. Matt's on location at Graig Fatha, Ripple Energy's cooperative wind farm in South Wales. Graig Fatha is Ripple's first project to test the concept of large-scale cooperative energy. It has 900 owners, who receive saving on their energy bill every month. Since 2022, more than £1,338,623 of savings have been generated for its members. Better still, the Welsh Government, which is a shareholder in the scheme, donates a share of its savings to Fuel Bank Foundation to help tackle fuel poverty in the local area, with almost £400,000 donated to date. It's a win/win! #RaceToEndFuelCrisis #NetZero #CleanEnergy

At Onyx Renewables, we believe in empowering communities—not only through clean energy solutions but also by stepping up in times of crisis. In the wake of hurricanes Helene and Milton, which have left so many in urgent need, Onyx is supporting recovery efforts through the American Red Cross' Milton/Helene Relief Fund. More than half of all Onyx employees have donated, and Onyx even committed to an employee donation match to maximize our impact. This fundraiser builds on Onyx's existing partnership with Footprint Project which aims to power post-disaster relief efforts through mobile trailers energized by Onyx-donated solar panels. Together, our goal for these initiatives is to provide essential aid to those who need it most and help rebuild stronger, more resilient communities. 💡Here’s how you can join us in making a difference: 1️. Visit https://lnkd.in/guV33BD to make your contribution. 2. Share this initiative within your network to amplify the support. Our mission goes beyond energy. It’s about resilience, sustainability, and standing united when our neighbors need us most. #HurricaneRelief #ResilienceInAction #AmericanRedCross #StrongerTogether #CommunitySupport

We have taken enforcement action against ScottishPower Energy Retail Ltd, after the supplier mistakenly overcharged direct debit customers a higher rate, which should only apply to those who pay by standard credit. Customers who were impacted by the issue have received a combined sum of £250,000 in direct reimbursements plus an additional £250,000 in goodwill payments from ScottishPower. These payments were issued automatically, requiring no action on the part of the customers. In addition, ScottishPower has committed to contributing £1 million to Ofgem's Energy Redress Scheme, which supports charities and community initiatives aimed at providing energy-related assistance to vulnerable customers. As a direct outcome of our compliance and enforcement efforts, energy companies issued over £72 million in customer refunds, compensation, and contributions to the Energy Redress Scheme last year. If you have solar installed on your home or business, you have been positively impacted by IREC's work. If you have developed a clean energy project that sells power onto the grid, you have been positively impacted by IREC's work. In fact, if you breath cleaner air or will suffer less from climate change due to progress on clean energy then you can thank IREC for helping give those projects grid access. If this is you (and it is!) please consider supporting IREC with a donation big or small this year. Donations from individuals to make a big impact to IREC. Although they are grant-funded, those funds are highly restricted in how they can be used. Individual donations give IREC much-needed flexibility to operate nimbly and respond to emerging needs. Contributions from supporters like you are truly essential in enabling our work. Thanks to generous contributions from the IREC Board and an anonymous donor, all gifts to IREC between now and the end of the year will be matched. Join the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) community with a donation today and double your impact: irecusa.org/donate!

As a competitive retailer in Alberta’s deregulated electricity market, we frequently hear concerns about the “failure of deregulation.” Recently, the Alberta Federation of Labour proposed re-regulating the market. We see things differently. Deregulation is the true "Alberta Advantage", and here’s why. The UTILITYnet group of companies has provided fixed prices below the RRO for over 80 consecutive months. Together, our brands have donated over $500,000 to local charities and invested significantly in economic development across the province. Since 2019, our Solar Club™ program has also given back over $20 million in value to micro-generators. These are just a few examples of the lasting benefits Alberta’s market brings to our communities. Read our newest blog for more: https://ow.ly/Pw4850TYtOp
