RDs, what calendars do you put your races on? If you are in the tri-state area, there really is no great option, either they are outdated, scraped and could be filled with wrong info, or contained to a race club/timing company/registration website. We are trying to offer another option. SRS has a race calendar open to all races in the NY/NJ/CT/PA/MA Region, even if we don't time/manage them. We have been in the running community for more than 40 years and we love it here. We are grateful to be a part of this little corner of the world and want to give more options to the runners we serve, while fostering a sense of community among the many small town races that exist in our area. If your an RD come add your race to our calendar, and even get put on our RD mailing list so you know what we are up to https://lnkd.in/e7SQRs-8 If your a runner, check on it regularly and you can even join our mailing list so you never miss a thing.

🛑 Did this IG-Famous Run Club bandit the Austin Marathon? The Raw Dawg Run club, which only launched this year, posted a photo on IG showing a group of their founders and members celebrating at the end of the Austin Marathon - complete with medals🏅. 🤳 But only two of those pictured with medals can be found in the race results - and one of them DNF’ed. So what’s going on here? 👇 Last week we reached out to the club for comment, and then to the individuals - they didn’t respond, and have since pulled the finish line post. In short, the evidence suggests that some of them bandited the race (bandit a race = jump on the course and run some or all of the race without registering). OK, here’s my take: Obviously, banditing a race (jumping on a race without registering) is bad. In recent years, there have been several stories of influencers banditing popular races(and even boasting about it), and it hurts both other runners and race organizers. What’s interesting about the Raw Dawg Run Club is that these guys are not your typical runner. They’re basically bro’s who take their shirt off at every opportunity, and have launched a Run Club that seems to be more about vibes and likes than actually bagging miles. But, guess what? They’re a phenomenon. Love them or loathe them, their events are huge - attracting hundreds of runners every week. And the people turning up are usually non-runners. They’re also young and brash. Their actions have annoyed a lot of regular runners, both at the marathon and in other settings. So the question is, can a young, influencer-led run club “grow up” and figure out how to become a positive part of the running community?
