Leveraging 20+ years of supply chain automation experience to optimize AutoStore solutions to lower the total cost of ownership and increase continuous value for users.
I came across this video today and it reminded me of the importance of the role supply chain automation plays. The reality is this video represents what many operations managers know and strive for to build a great looking pallet and at a high rate. Unfortunately this expectation is not sustainable and results in high turnover and injuries to great employees and team members that want to be successful. What do you think the goal is for this operator for sustained cases per hour throughout the shift? Now this remains one of the most challenging solutions to automate especially in existing facilities, but here are some to consider. GreyOrange Symbotic , Geek+ Quicktron Robotics, Grenzebach Group and Gideon ! (There are more but some remain fairly secretive as well). https://lnkd.in/eu_sq_T6 #supplychainsolutions #supplychain #hardwork #warehouse #innovation

Dashboards and reports are great resources for getting an overview of your production. But timelines drill deeper into the performance and health of your equipment. The MachineMetrics Timeline uncovers the “why” behind downtime events, extended cycle times, and any other issues occurring on the shop floor. With an accurate record of every machine event, you can find out exactly what occurred at any given time in the past. Think of it like a logbook for every single machine in your plant. Want an inside look? Take our Timeline tour.

Optimizing the cartons for your orders cuts transportation costs (up to 22%) and reduces your environmental footprint. 🌎 💡 #cartonization #packagingoptimization #fulfillment #warehouse #logistics #supplychain #sustainability
Raise your hand if you've received a package with an unnecessary amount of 'air' inside the package? 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻 It's a fine balance between protecting items in shipment, overpacking (or under packing) with void fill, fitting products into the right-sized carton or mailer, DIM weight fees...the list goes on. Adjusting your carton suite to accommodate your order sets will not only reduce transportation costs (by up to 22%) but will reduce Scope-3 emissions in the process. 🌎💚 Article credit: Randy McClure. There is no risk in running simulations. Zero. How could there be operational risk when you can evaluate changes BEFORE implementation? 🧐 It's a 'try before you buy' scenario. You know what to expect. You can see the impact, positive, negative or indifferent. The alternative? Do nothing. Make zero changes and continue paying to ship excess void fill or even air inside your boxes. 👎😢 PacSimulate allows you to test theories, run simulations, and determine which carton or mailer suite will deliver the biggest bang for your buck! Ship sustainably, reduce cost and waste, and give your customers the unboxing experience they want! Quote Engine is a multi-sided Drayage Quote System that calculates quotes to customers and payable to drivers. Quotes link to the delivery orders when delivery orders are received. Easy configuration per zip code or city name. Pay to the driver is configurable per mile or as a percent of the corresponding revenue category. Furthermore, Quote Engine can be set up per hub, so each hub has its own independent quote system as rates might fluctuate differently across hubs. Quote Engine comes with customer facing features allowing customers to query rates online through the truck fleet website.

Ensuring Precision in Packaging: The Critical Role of Torque Values In the fast-paced world of automated packaging, attention to detail is paramount. Today, I want to highlight a crucial, sometimes overlooked aspect—adjusting equipment to the proper torque value when switching between closure sizes. **Why does it matter? Different bottle and jar sizes require specific torque values to secure their lids effectively. For instance, a 24mm lid demands a torque between 10 and 18 inch-pounds, while a 53mm lid should be applied at 21 to 36 inch-pounds. Precise torque application not only guarantees the integrity of the packaging but also plays a key role in preventing leaks, ensuring product freshness, and maintaining overall product quality. **The Impact of Inaccuracy Failure to adhere to the recommended torque values can lead to a cascade of issues—ranging from compromised product safety and integrity to operational inefficiencies. Over-tightening may result in damaged closures and consumer frustration, while under-tightening can lead to leaks and potential contamination, jeopardizing both brand reputation and consumer trust. **The Switching Dilemma When transitioning between closure sizes, it's imperative to recalibrate equipment to match the torque specifications of the new lids. While it does increase downtime, this meticulous adjustment guarantees a seamless production process, reduces the risk of errors, and ensures consistent quality across all packaging sizes. **Global Standards, Local Impact As the packaging industry continues to evolve, adherence to global standards becomes increasingly vital. By embracing precision in torque application, we not only uphold industry best practices but also contribute to a sustainable and efficient packaging ecosystem. Let’s start a discussion about torque values. Do you have any interesting or amusing stories to share? #TorqueValues #QualityControl #PackagingStandards
