Giving blood 🩸 isn't just about saving lives - it's about giving back to our communities and supporting those in need. Yesterday, I dedicated time to donating blood. I am very grateful to have the time to do this, as I realise not everyone can easily find the time. But why should that be the case? Where should I donate to start giving back? Lately, clients have been reaching out with this question. My answer is always straightforward. What is closer to your heart? ❤️ Choosing organizations that support causes close to your heart makes it easier to connect with them. It encourages you to visit and see their work firsthand. This way, you witness the impact of your support, fueling your desire to continue contributing. It's about creating a personal connection and seeing the tangible results of your generosity. --- Here is my example: At least once a year, I try to visit Blackwood Youth Action, an organization I collaborate with annually. My most recent visit was during the opening of their new facilities—a tangible way to see where our money and effort are going. Witnessing the results firsthand, we couldn't be prouder to continue our collaboration. This approach deepens our connection and ensures our contributions make a real difference. --- To summarise, give back guided by what truly moves you ❤️

Have you ever participated in a donation drive or program that felt entirely impersonal? 🫧 (How many times have you purchased travel-size shampoo bottles… and had no idea which organization they were actually going towards)?  🫧 ^These initiatives aren’t necessarily bad. But when organizations fail to create an experience to engage those willing to help, it can create a significant disconnect. 🙃 The University of San Diego’s partnership with Monarch School is a great example of what it looks like to engage the community with an initiative that aligns with its values. And Mission Edge’s Corporate Social Responsibility program spent a year helping them do so.
