General Manager {SEMPRE VIVO,Pipa} & Group Director of Commercial & Communications Strategy {FILHA DA LUA,Pipa • SERANDIPIAN by TravellerMade | SEMPRE VIVO,Pipa }
When I got into this industry, 25 years ago, never did I dream of working with the list & caliber of talents I did for most of the time at Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group , Firmdale Hotels PLC , Dorchester Collection and Langham Hospitality Group {hence I have a Pinterest Album to remind me some time}. The key to it was: to be personal, discreet, trustworthy, accommodating, authentic, make them feel safe and treat them with simple humanity, to always be three steps ahead {because always something else popped up that had higher priority than the previous priority}, to look after the entire crew and not just the talent {because it goes a very long way}, to be there more or less 24/7 and to be that one-stop-shop. It had a lot of benefits, and not only did I travel, got unforgettable rewards and invitations/experiences, learned a lot from the most demanding, creating complex project management situations, working for clients that needed to get the best out of me and the efficiency of and communication to my teams, but nevertheless it combined my hobby of music, film, tv and entertainment with my passion of hospitality & care but it also showed me a side of most of my clients that will stay with me forever. Gratitude 🙏 #entertainmentsales #hotellife #hotelier #entertainmentindustry #eventmanagement #careerdevelopment #lovewhatyoudo #hospitality

There is no secret when it comes to the hospitality industry other than to be present. When we're able to focus our attention on the people around us instead of on our next tasks, people will notice. It will make their experience ten times better. Multitasking while being able to remain focused in the present moment is one of hospitality's superpowers! #hospitality #nycstaffing #eventstaffing #nycevents

What about off hours? For individuals attending conferences or meetings, their interests extend beyond the primary event itself. Who wants to be stuck in the hotel room watching Netflix when there is a new city to explore? They seek opportunities to explore attractions, unwind at a spa, indulge in exceptional dining, and connect with the local community. In addition to the core conference, it's prudent to organize or provide suggestions of supplementary activities that enhance this multifaceted experience, allowing participants to engage in personal pursuits. These events might encompass guided tours to local landmarks, offering discounts for hotel or spa services (we do!), arranging dining experiences at renowned local eateries, live musical performances, and various other engaging possibilities. What if you don’t know your destination city? How could you be an expert at every location? Ask your planning team: Your Meeting Procurement Associate, the local Destination Marketing Organization and of course, your hotel contact! We love showing off our city!

Good evening, everyone! Late-night post here. As you may already know, I occasionally work as a bartender at various events, including corporate parties, weddings, and more. Today, I had the opportunity to work at the prestigious store at Yorkville, Toronto. Aside from earning some extra cash, one of the most rewarding aspects of these events is the engaging conversations I have with customers.There's never a day I leave without someone considering me their new bestie. 😂 ☺️ Moreover, let's talk about the benefits of the bartender gig: Networking Opportunities: Bartending at upscale events allows me to connect with professionals from various industries. Enhanced Communication Skills: Engaging with diverse clientele hones my communication skills, from handling different personalities to adapting my approach based on the event's atmosphere. Customer Relationship Building: Building rapport with customers is crucial in the hospitality industry. Being a bartender provides me with the chance to create memorable experiences and foster positive relationships. Cultural Exposure: Working at high-end events exposes me to various cultures and preferences, broadening my understanding and appreciation for diversity. Looking forward to the next gig #BartenderLife #EventHospitality #NetworkingOpportunities #CommunicationSkills #CustomerRelationships #CashTips #CulturalExposure #BartendingPerks #HighEndEvents #TorontoNightlife #ProfessionalGrowth #BestieConnections #DiverseExperiences #MemorableMoments #BartenderTalks

I did something rather silly 😜 I forgot my suit (which is mandatory) when we had planned a beautiful afternoon tea at London's famous hotel... The Ritz The Ritz London. But instead of being turned away... they provided me with one! A special thank you to all the people there. The reception, the waiters and staff members were MAGNIFICENT. But why write and post this??? 🤔 Not just because of how they delt with my silliness and forgetfulness... It was great LEARNINGS and examples of: ✅ How to treat people. ✅ How to deliver world class service. ✅ How to take a silly awkward moment and turn it into humour... which made me feel better. This was a classic example of FIRST CLASS service. Something we all can LEARN from. Will I visit again? Absolutely. Preferably with my suit next time. 🙂 The difference that makes the difference is world class service. Be world class Practice what you preach. (visited January 2023)
