How do we make humans more sustainable? Perhaps the answer is to make sustainability more human. In “Our Human Moment: Cracking the Code”, we explore what it means to go beyond the ‘S word’ and the traditional notions of #sustainability associated with it. By broadening the definition and portrayal of what it means to act sustainably, we have an opportunity to more fully capture how people think about their own lives and the impact they have on people and the planet. In trying to make sustainability relevant, most organizations have missed this crucial element. By understanding people’s worldviews – how they view the world and their role in it – together with how people think about and relate to sustainability, organizations can unlock opportunities to address different people in a way that makes sustainable living more relevant and practical for them. This reorientation is vital to the sustainability agenda, energy transition, and fight against climate change. Success will rely on people and their actions, but companies and governments must pave the way for those actions to have sustainable outcomes. I’m grateful for having had the opportunity to co-author this report with Oliver Pattenden and Paola Perini and for the collaboration with so many talented Accenture and Accenture Song colleagues Gerry Botchoukova-Farkova Guillaume Simon Sandra Najem Angela Perego Bridget Connelly Daniel Shropshall Jose Lopez

Our report recommends a shift towards a more life-centric approach, emphasizing that "if people are to act more sustainably more consistently then their actions must align with their values needs and desires". #Accenture #accenturesong #lifecentricity #sustainabilty
