Targeted Learning Interventions in a 1:1 Classroom Joie Laykoff - Sr. Director of Teaching & Learning, Fusion Academy shares:   Students may not always recognize when they need help or know how to ask for it. Sometimes information just isn’t clicking and they may not know why. Are they having a hard time paying attention? Is the way it’s being explained confusing? Are they not understanding the instructions?   In a 1:1 classroom, teachers frequently monitor students’ comprehension and pick up on cues of confusion. When students encounter obstacles - because those are bound to happen - teachers can easily pivot to a new strategy thanks to the 1:1 connection.   Maybe it’s explaining a concept in a different way, or having the student work through a problem to identify the issue, or eliminating distractions to refocus and begin again. Providing targeted learning interventions in real-time is crucial to boosting student confidence. What’s even better is that our teachers ensure these adjustments are transparent to students, empowering them to understand their own learning process.
