Over the weekend, a presumed cyberattack led to a disruption at the Port of Seattle and SEA airport. Despite the incident, business resiliency prevailed, with alternative processes in place to continue serving customers effectively. Currently, systems are still down and there is no estimated time for services to be fully restored. Scott Simon, CRO of FusionTek and former CISO, highlights "Cyberattacks often target organizations during holiday weekends, catching them unprepared with reduced support. It's crucial to have Cyber Incident Response Plans in place to ensure your organization has a clear path to resolution." With Labor Day a week out, we encourage businesses to take this opportunity to review and update their Incident Response Plans this week, as it is critical for both national infrastructure and businesses. #cybersecurity #incidentresponse #businesscontinuity #securityawareness

FYI, pre-pandemic, we had discussions about the CyberSecure Canada program and as basic as it was, they told us that they were secure and had all the controls in place which I would have expected from them considering who and what they are and do. We got on the topic of supply chain security, and the bottom line after many discussions, would be a practically imposssible task. Imagine knowing that your supply chain has started the process of not becoming the lowest hanging fruit.
