It is clear that we aim to have fully autonomous cars, which will even be self-charging. Does it sound impossible? I do not think so; globally, we can see all the necessary innovations to reach it soon. We already have self-driving cars, automatic and wireless charging, along with all the technology necessary to achieve it. Attending World Sustainable Energy Days showed the direction of the green energy transition. We have all seen robotic charging introduced by Tesla and Elon Musk, but 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚, such as Matrix Charging technology invented by Easelink. Technology will allow towards reaching a sustainable smart energy grid, enabling the broad rollout of electric vehicles in urban areas, and moving the market towards advanced autonomous driving. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬, the need to develop new infrastructure, the impact on the stability of the power grid, and security of supply are among the challenges that power grid operators face. This is holding back new renewable and other low carbon generation, as well as storage and other projects that can enhance system security and flexibility.
