Securing top-notch talent requires a delicate touch and keen discernment When it comes to hiring, we're not just looking for run-of-the-mill candidates. We want folks who are responsible, self-motivated, and have a resilience level that could put a rubber band to shame. You know, those people who can turn a lemon into lemonade and then sell it for a profit – that's what we call a high adversity quotient (AQ). So, there we were, in May of 2018, on the hunt for management associates. But before we knew it, summer had slipped through our fingers, and we found ourselves knee-deep in Q3 – aka, the Bermuda Triangle of recruitment We conducted interviews with a plethora of candidates over a span of 4-5 months until one fateful September day when we encountered Angie Lim From the get-go, Angie had this sparkle in her eye, like she was dreaming big and ready to take on the world. She could talk the talk about our corporate vision like she'd been rehearsing in front of a mirror. And her answers to the usual interview questions? Familiar as your grandma's apple pie recipe. But it was midway through the interview, when I popped the question about why she hadn't snagged a job yet, that things got interesting. Instead of the usual spiel about waiting for the right opportunity, she hits me with this gem: she wanted to make sure she passed on her leadership torch in her extracurricular activities before moving on. Well, color me impressed! In that moment, I knew we had struck gold. I mean, anyone who's that committed to their CCA responsibilities is bound to bring some serious dedication to the table. So, without skipping a beat, I mentally high-fived myself and decided then and there: Angie was the one we were looking for! #FindingTheOne #RecruitmentSuccess
