Future Hospitality Society (FHS)’s Post

Women are powerful agents of change, and the far-reaching benefits of diversity and gender parity in leadership and decision-making are increasingly recognized in all spheres. Still, women continue to be vastly under-represented in decision-making in politics, businesses, and communities. Yesterday at FHS, we had a robust discussion on inclusivity, representative to representation with our experts, Liny Antwi and Susan Anderson. They are the ones who make gender and ethnic diversity a priority—by setting aspirational goals for the proportion of women in leadership roles, insisting on diverse slates of candidates for senior positions. While simultaneously developing mentoring and training programs to foster those who want to grow within their position. The case for balancing the power equation in leadership has never been more clear. But progress in women’s leadership will not happen automatically. It comes from a great perception that has the power to improve and appreciate diversity. That’s why yesterday’s discussion was an eye-opener. Pursuing a rising topic as women in leadership shows our commitment to elaborating, breaking the ceiling and enriching the diversity’s value. Special thanks to our amazing hosts Bianca Maria Cantor and Ta Hoang Kim as well as the dynamic audience and the empowerment they brought to the table. #futurehospitalitysociety #diversityinclusion #inclusive #womenempowerment #leadershipinsights

I appreciate the remarks you made yesterday. My favorite one has to be about mentorship. Cross-gender mentoring is beneficial in many ways. Men and women leaders can cover and perceive various aspects towards each other performances in depth. With that being said, empowering women managerial perception is crucial, especially when hospitality is about people and diversity. We complimentary each other. And like Susan Anderson said, the hotel we represent should also speak on the behalf of us. Don't limit yourself with steoreotypes and gender expectations. Liny Antwi also suggested that we should highly appreciate humanistic approach as "we are people, people with people" when it comes to communication and improvement.

Thank you Liny and Susan for your insightful sharing last night. I personally gained a lot of valuable insights which provided me with greater confidence in myself as well. It also serves as a reminder that by being visible and faithful in ourselves, we can be the ones to set examples and create a more inclusive and positive culture within our organizations. It's clear that changes can always start with us, and I'm motivated to be part of this enlightening journey too. ☺️💫
