"At its core, technology modernization involves transforming existing applications to take advantage of modern technologies, frameworks, and architectures" - the literal "what", yes, but missing the "why". If modernisation were only about recovery of tech debt and upgrading tech, than organisations will continue to *kick the can* until they are left with no other options. Modernisation is about realising the capabilities and optimisations to people and process through tech "... redefin[ing] what's possible", in the same way organisational digital transformation automated and optimised business processes. *Modernisation* is the next wave of transformation

Clearly, this shows Elon Musk's ideation to make the AI that enables next-gen features. Jan 30 is a big day when SamAltman will be revealing the Super AI Agents. The first data centre is under construction in Texas, with plans to expand across multiple states. DeepSeek AI is a reminder that investments in #realassets #AIinfrastructure are not insulated from technology risk, and that overbuild of data centres and associated power #infrastructure is a distinct possibility. DeepSeek also shows there are efficiency gains to be had in AI infrastructure that need to be taken seriously, before decisions are made to lock-in enormous amounts of power, not all of it clean.
