🚀 At the Next Mobility Exhibition on May 8, 2024 in Milan, we had the honour of hosting three extraordinary professionals who shared their valuable experience and vision on simplifying the public transport user experience even if governance sometimes seems to get in the way. 🏛️ ⭐ Cristina Bargero, President of the Piedmont Mobility Agency 🇮🇹 ⭐ MARIA CRISTINA CARMELI, Director of Transport and Mobility of the City of Genoa 🇮🇹 ⭐ Denise Gioli, Director of the Arcobaleno Tariff Community in Ticino 🇨🇭 The discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities for simplifying public transport. The speakers identified opportunities such as: 🛤️ Designing and managing a network, not a series of isolated lines: multimodal and complementary services with clockface scheduling and secure connections. Unifying ticketing and fare systems for all transport modes, simplifying multimodal travel, which is politically challenging and can take a long time. 😊 Improving service usability: providing a service that takes users where they want to go, when they want to go, reliably. Making PT easier to use and accessible, with technologies that simplify ticket purchasing, navigation, and access to information. 😍 Reducing complexity for users: making PT easier to use and accessible, with technologies that simplify ticket purchasing, navigation, and access to information. Hiding the complexity of the LPT management system from end users, providing an easy-to-use and understandable service. FAIRTIQ is an example of technology that helps users navigate a complex context. 📝 Achieving results through operational contracts: companies should bring operating contracts to national and European regulations and use these contracts to being more seamlessness to the user experience. Overcoming the digital divide: facilitating and supporting the adoption of intuitive and easy-to-use digital solutions, while recognizing that a decreasing percentage of users will still need alternatives. ☁️ Gradually abandoning hardware: reducing dependency on obsolete hardware systems for ticket purchasing and information access, using the savings to implement all the above. It was a lively and stimulating debate that underscored the importance of interregional and international collaboration to improve passenger experience and promote more sustainable mobility, using lightweight and intuitive technologies like FAIRTIQ ✨ For those who missed it, you can find the video with English subtitles here. https://lnkd.in/etfAhE2B Thanks to all the participants for their enlightening contributions and to everyone present for making this event memorable! 💡🚀 #NextMobilityExhibition #PublicTransport #SustainableMobility #Innovation #UserExperience #FAIRTIQ

There’s a lot going on in Barcelona right now! 🏎 It was a shame that Lando just missed out yesterday, but nevertheless it’s great to see encouraging signs of this year’s F1 championship looking a little more competitive! ⛵ The America Cup is building towards the October series, with evidence of serious team presence in the buildings around the harbour. However, just as importantly, it was the location for an excellent DeepTech Alliance Clean Energy event last week. Thanks to Jakob Heiberg for the kind invite, David Domingo for the hosting in Barcelona and Linda Krondahl and Magnus Melander for the fine organisation. 🌍 It’s highly encouraging to see such success in bringing together three of the crucial ingredients necessary to properly solve the world’s headline problems in this area: large corporates prepared to innovate, start-ups and sources of investment. 🌐 Given the scale of the challenges we face, a global effort is needed. Whilst the Deep Tech Alliance membership across 11 countries doesn’t quite qualify on its own as ‘global’ it’s certainly an impressive effort to bring together players from all these regions, and a fantastic opportunity for collaboration and cross-fertilisation. 👩💻 Whilst I had many interesting conversations covering a myriad of challenges from business model and regulation to technology, it was highly refreshing to see such a recognition of the value of the fourth crucial ingredient - access to deep technical expertise (in itself cross fertilised across multiple domains) to help develop the products and solutions needed.

We need to talk about #EBACE Picture this: you're at a great dinner party, surrounded by people whose company you enjoy. Mid-conversation, a good friend leans in and tells you, "You've got something in your teeth." Sure, it's embarrassing but isn't it great to have friends who look out for you? That's the spirit in which I'm talking about EBACE today. A true friend offering some honest feedback because I care about what EBACE represents and its future. For many in the private aviation industry, EBACE is more than just an event. It's pivotal in the aviation calendar, encouraging innovations and facilitating business deals. But traditions need to evolve, and I've noticed areas where EBACE could use a refresh to continue serving all of us well. First off, let's talk about Geneva. It's a beautiful city, ideal for hosting an event of EBACE's caliber. But the cost of participating has become increasingly prohibitive. A single room costing €1,000 a night might raise an eyebrow from a seasoned executive but, for the young professionals who are essential for our industry's future, it’s a barrier to entry. And then there's the format which has remained much the same for years. While there’s comfort in the familiar, the world around us is changing fast. We're seeing dynamic shifts in how industries operate, driven by technological advances and a new generation of thinkers and movers. Bernhard Fragner made an excellent point in his recent post about this, noting iterative improvement is not the same as real progress and evolution. Other meet-ups like the CJI conferences, the Summer & Winter Aviation Conferences, and new platforms like Red Cabin are starting to fill the gap, offering the vibrancy and affordability that once defined EBACE. So, what do we need from EBACE going forward? Here are a few ideas: 1. A New Venue or Rotating Locations: to help manage costs and keep the event fresh and exciting. 2. Revamp the Format: Let’s introduce more interactive and engaging elements like live tech demos and showcases that reflect our fast-paced, connected world. 3. Expand the Audience: It’s time to reach beyond our immediate circle and engage with the wider public, showcasing the incredible value and innovation our industry offers to the global economy. 4. Address the challenges of sustainability and the pressure of special interest groups head-on (maybe taking a page from the recent London CJI event) 5. Support students: EBACE could offer sponsored hotel rooms, or a “sponsor-a-student” program to attract fresh faces. As we stand at this crossroad, I see an opportunity for EBACE to embrace the changes necessary to remain at the forefront of our industry. Consider this an intervention out of respect and hope for what EBACE can continue to be—a leading light in our aviation world. Here's to a brighter, more inclusive future for EBACE and for all of us who depend on it to showcase the best of what we do. Let’s roll up our sleeves and help EBACE fly higher than ever.

Certainly, the unparalleled quality of our exhibitor list and conference program is the primary reason for #CoilWinding professionals worldwide to join us in Augsburg (March 20/21). But there's more to it! A dive into why this event is so attractive for the participants from outside Germany. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫 Germany's second-largest airport offers direct connections to all the continents. This makes the journey faster and more reliable - if you do not have to catch a connecting flight, you can not miss your onward journey. Upon arrival at the Munich Airport, we've got you covered with comfortable large limousines ready to take you and other attendees directly to the fair. 𝐈𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 The German #electromotor, #generator, and #transformer industry is rather centred in Southern Germany. Therefore, Augsburg is easily reachable for them and also for industry professionals from nearby Austria and Switzerland. This geographical advantage attracts more visitors than far-away venues and enhances networking opportunities, making the trip to Germany even more valuable. 𝐍𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩 𝐁𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 Many exhibition and conference attendees combine business and innovation with culture when they travel far for a trade show and conference. Great news: The famous Neuschwanstein Castle, just an hour away from Augsburg, is just one of the many captivating destinations in southern Germany – a region that draws hundreds of thousands of people every year from around the world during their holidays and Coiltech Deutschland visitors have it as a side benefit.
