That’s why CLEVERFOOD is launching the campaign, “Food is for Everyone: Shaping the European Food System for a #FairFoodRevolution”, in collaboration with the FOOD 2030 Networks. Running from October 1st to October 18th, and aligned with #WorldFoodDay, we encourage you to get involved by sharing your own experiences and stories! Meanwhile, the EU4Advice project is working to enhance sustainability in food systems by empowering short food supply chains (SFSCs). The project connects SFSC advisors across all 27 EU member states, integrates advisory tools into national Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS), and improves AKIS governance. Together, we are helping food chain actors adopt practices that are economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable. Our mission at inoqo has always been about #transparency in the #foodindustry. We're empowering #groceryretailers and #foodsuppliers to calculate the impact of their entire F&B assortment, driving reductions in #scope3 emissions. But we're not stopping there! 🌱 Transforming the Food System with Transparency, Traceability & Trust (3T) 🌍 At CUES, we are working to reshape the food value chain into one that is more sustainable and fair. By co-designing solutions with food value chain actors through a multi-actor participatory approach, we aim to: ✔️ Enhance Transparency ✔️ Improve Traceability ✔️ Build Trustworthiness in food sustainability communication 🔧 What are we doing? Developing technological, organisational, and social innovations across the agri-food value chain. Testing solutions in the production, processing, and packaging of plant-based and circular products. Integrating enhanced digital traceability and sustainability transparency into a Communication Toolkit to (re)gain consumer trust. 📈 Our Impact Goals: ✅ Implement four sustainable interventions in the food value chain. ✅ Transform at least 100 food value chain actors across Europe. 🌍 Youth-led Innovations in Sustainable Food Packaging 🌱 Sharing the results of an event organized by Eroski in collaboration with BCC Innovation, as part of the #INFORMPACK project, supported by EIT Food. A group of gastronomy students participated in exploring the future of sustainable packaging in the food industry. Key takeaways: ✅ Economic and regulatory incentives are crucial to encourage the adoption of eco-friendly materials in restaurants. ✅ Raising awareness among younger generations could be the driving force for more sustainable practices. ✅ While bio-packaging solutions have promise, concerns around functionality and safety need to be addressed to gain wider acceptance. Well-aligned food policies are needed at both national and international level to guide food system transformation towards sustainability. Rigorous indicator frameworks are essential in order to facilitate discussion of priorities, enable comparisons, assessment and progress monitoring, and ensure accountability. In this study, we develop a national framework for a sustainable food system, using Sweden as a case.
