Founder & CEO @ Nova Chief of Staff | Acclaimed Fortune 40 CoS to President | First-of-its-kind Chief of Staff Certification Course | C-Suite Leadership Speaker | Building Confidence Around the Globe 🌎
I learned the skills to make me a great Chief of Staff ON-THE-JOB. So what value did I get from my MBA? I’m asked this a lot. I credit my MBA for these three things: - opportunity - an incredible network - building confidence & validation Opportunities like internships, competitions, and resource connecting. I wouldn’t have been placed into the executive development program at T-Mobile had I not been at the Forte MBA conference, where I met the recruiters. Amazing people to learn from and with— but it’s usually hyper-local to your school’s location. And the confidence to know I can make it through a tough mergers & acquisitions class, or the validation that my interpersonal & leadership skills are actually highly-sought after and not just something everyone is inherently good at (half of my class were engineers, many getting their MBA to grow into leadership roles). I’ll add that the credibility from an MBA and learning for learning’s sake are two more valid benefits. So, what did I learned throughout my career? Financial analysis, project management, digital design, presentation skills, storytelling, leadership, operations, communications, events, negotiation, conflict resolution, facilitation… the list goes on. On-the-job experience gave me the skills, practice, platform, and examples to follow that have been most relevant in my career. I loved my MBA experience! But I don’t credit it for making me into a great Chief of Staff. On-the-job experience did that. — Questions? Happy to answer in the chat. MBA friends, do you agree? Please share in the comments. — I created the Nova Chief of Staff certification to offer hands-on practice doing the things Chiefs of Staff do eveyday, for THIS exact reason. Schools don’t teach you, there’s no other resource like Nova, and practice builds confidence. Questions? Email us at hello@novachiefofstaff.com — #chiefofstaff #executiveassistant #mba

I often suggest generic career options to fresh MBA grads who reach out to me. Unless someone has a very clear preference. In the initial years of your career taking up roles such as Consulting, Program Management, General Management makes sense since they: 1. Expose you to multiple industries or functions 2. Can really help you build basic business knowledge 3. Eventually enable you to understand where does your interest lie Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong in knowing what you want but you are not left behind even if you are discovering yourself in the initial years. #consulting #career #careeradvice #growth 🔁Hit REPOST if you found this valuable. ______________________________ Follow Divyanshu Madaan for more and press the 🔔 icon on my profile for notifications.

Trying to decide between an MBA and a Master in Management (MiM) can be tricky, but it all depends on where you are in your career. If you've been working for about 3-5 years and are ready to take a big step up, an MBA could be right for you. It's a bigger investment—around $93,000—but the rewards are high, with many graduates landing jobs that pay around $180,000 a year at big companies like Google and McKinsey. If you're newer to the working world, maybe just out of college or with a couple of years of job experience, a MiM might be better. It costs less, about $50,000, and you can expect to start earning around $100,000. It’s a good way to get your foot in the door at places like Amazon and Bain. Both options take a couple of years to finish, and they both open up great opportunities to earn more and move up in your career. 💬 Have any thoughts or questions about these paths? Drop a comment below or share this with a friend who might be figuring out their next step! #MBA #MiM #Education #CareerPaths #GradSchool
