In an interview with FKG, our Program Director Hans Pohl shared how Future Mobility connects Swedish companies with key players in the US automotive industry. From Silicon Valley to Gothenburg, we’re fostering cross-Atlantic partnerships to drive innovation in electrification, automation, and vehicle sharing. From the article: "Through Future Mobility, companies and other actors who want to start collaborations with American industry colleagues can apply for funds from Vinnova for one-year strategic projects, up to SEK 500,000 per project. However, companies are required to match that amount themselves. But the point of Future Mobility is not only to contribute money. According to Program Director Hans Pohl, it is just as much about the matchmaking itself—finding partners on both sides of the Atlantic who can work together. 'In several of the collaborations we helped match, they haven’t applied for any funding at all,' he says." Massive News to start 2025🚀: We just acquired Micromobility Industries! I'm excited to announce that Mayten has acquired majority interest in Micromobility Industries, the largest global media brand for small electric vehicles. This acquisition holds a special place for me. In 2019, I attended the Micromobility America event as a visitor, and the people I met and the conversations I had there marked the start of my journey in this industry. Micromobility Industries, founded by Horace Dediu and James Gross, played a pivotal role in the global shared micromobility boom, building a strong community around small electric vehicles across the globe. Many of us in the industry have gained invaluable insights through their events, podcasts, blogs, and newsletters. Infact most of us met at one of their Europe or US Micromobility events. Horace and James built something that only very few can dream of. Following the acquisition, they will remain onboard as co-founders, and I'm looking forward to working with them to grow and scale Micromobility Industries. This is our second acquisition following the acquisition of Denmark based shared mobility aggregator Cogo last year and we continue to remain focused on discovering new opportunities in the mobility space. I’m thrilled to welcome Micromobility Industries as part of Mayten and can't wait to announce Micromobility Europe event in the coming weeks. 🛴 Positive news from the micromobility sector! One of the largest scooter-sharing operators, Ryde Technology, is growing rapidly with positive EBITDA: 👉 Revenue growth from 15.6M EUR to 27.7M EUR (+77%) 👉 EBITDA growth from 2.7M EUR to 11.4M EUR (+322%) 👉 All of this in the Scandinavian market, despite challenging weather conditions ❄️ Ryde launched in 2019 and now operates in around 40 cities (Sweden, Norway, Finland) with a fleet of over 40,000 scooters 🛴, generating around 60 EUR per scooter per month. While this may not seem high (we often see revenue of 300+ EUR per month per scooter), considering the weather conditions and constant fleet growth, it's likely that in good months, the revenue could reach around 150 EUR/scooter/month. With lean operations and quality hardware, they could achieve positive ROI on initial investments in a few seasons. Profitable growth of Ryde is possible by: - Low HQ and administrative costs; - Geographical targeting (Nordics, a market they know well); - Lean operations; - Low R&D costs (IT and development). Interestingly, Ryde's aggressive and profitable growth began only after it was acquired by the private equity firm Equip Capital in 2021 and the appointment of a new management... this is a strong message to the operational teams at Bird and micromobility.com #Micromobility #ScooterSharing #sharedmobility #EBITDA Zag Daily https://lnkd.in/duAwaS58
Ryde’s EBITDA skyrockets 400%

Big News: EQT and Kühne Holding Acquire 35% Stake in Flix! We are absolutely thrilled to share that EQT Future and Kühne Holding have acquired a 35% stake in our portfolio company, Flix! This is a huge milestone for Flix, one that brings in strategic investors who will empower them with industry-leading knowledge and expertise, strengthening their balance sheet and supporting their ambitious growth plans. We have been a proud partner since day one. When we first met the Flix team at their small offices in Munich, before the first green bus ever hit the streets, we knew they were onto something huge. We believed in them and believed that they were building something that would change the way we travel, and that’s exactly what they did. Nowadays, you can’t hit the road anywhere in Europe without seeing one of their iconic green buses, and this latest investment is a clear vote of confidence as Flix looks to expand further in North America and beyond the 43 countries it now operates in. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to André Schwämmlein, Jochen Engert, Daniel Krauss, and the entire Flix team for reaching this significant milestone. We look forward to supporting Flix as they continue to revolutionize the mobility industry.
