🎉 Autonomous Mobility Conference Highlights 🚗💡 We had the pleasure of hosting an incredible event on the future of AI-driven, autonomous vehicles in Kyrgyzstan! The conference brought together brilliant minds from Europe and Central Asia to explore cutting-edge innovations in autonomous driving and their practical benefits for Kyrgyzstan. Throughout the day, our remarkable speakers shared valuable insights on topics essential to the future of mobility. Key discussions included real-time object detection and AI solutions for safe and efficient driving—pioneering technologies that promise to bring improvements in safety, traffic flow, and environmental sustainability. Expert speakers such as Karsten Schulze CEO of FDTech GmbH and Timur Turatali Kyrgyzstan’s AI community leader and co-founder of AkylAI, presented powerful case studies, while Ravshan Hojimatov and Nursultan Sulaymanov from Entwicklerburg demonstrated the real-world impact of these advancements for Kyrgyzstan. The conference concluded with a forward-looking panel discussion, "The Future of Self-Driving Vehicles in Kyrgyzstan," featuring prominent leaders like Alexander Kovalenko (CEO of staff-eye GmbH ), Umbriel Temiraliev (CEO of Bishkek Free Economic Zone), Daniar Amanaliev (co-founder of ololo group ), and Sydygaly Sagynbaev (CEO of Entwicklerburg). Their discussion underscored how Kyrgyzstan can leverage autonomous driving technology to drive economic growth, enhance safety, and pave the way for a smarter, more connected future. Last month, Mcity unveiled the first open-source digital twin for mobility systems testing, making the free tool available worldwide to help accelerate research into autonomous and connected vehicles.

"By 2035, autonomous driving could generate annual revenue of $300 to $400 billion, according to McKinsey. This significant economic potential highlights the transformative impact of autonomous mobility on the transport sector, improving safety, reliability, and efficiency in the movement of people and goods." This paper explores the pathways for integrating autonomous mobility into existing transport systems, emphasizing the need for innovative regulatory approaches.

🚀 Great News! 🚀 My latest PhD paper, titled “Impact of connected and autonomous vehicles on road network resilience in Belgium”, has been published in Transportmetrica A! 📖✨ In this study, we used the mesoscopic traffic simulation model of Belgium (developed in SUMO) to evaluate the road network resilience of Belgium. This paper introduces a novel simulation-based road network resilience measure that integrates key aspects of resilience: redundancy, robustness, and recovery. We also explored the role of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) 🚗🔗 by incorporating specific queueing and route choice parameters into the model. 📣 A new autonomous driving method to predict future movements of nearby objects by valeo.ai! Valeo.ai team, a member of the EXA4MIND consortium and leader of the project's industrial application case, has developed a new autonomous driving method for predicting the future movements of nearby objects. It is called 🚗'Valeo4Cast: A Modular Approach to End-to-End Forecasting'🚗, and is part of the methods or solutions that have participated in the AV2 2024 Unified Detection, Tracking, and Forecasting Challenge, organised by argoverse. → Valeo's approach to autonomous driving focuses on a modular method for motion prediction, dividing the problem into detection, tracking and forecasting to improve performance. This strategy outperforms traditional end-to-end prediction methods. 🏅 With this seemingly simple, but totally innovative and demonstrably effective approach, ‘Valeo4Cast: A Modular Approach to End-to-End Forecasting’ is currently in 1st place on the leaderboard in the Motion Forecasting task and 2nd in the Tracking task.
