I used to hide behind my phone at networking events. Because I was scared to approach anyone. But that’s not my story anymore. Now I walk into a room and make a lasting impression, even when it still feels a bit nerve-wracking. Here’s how you can do it too! In this video, I share two game-changing tips: ↳ Act like you’re a party host. 🎉 ↳ Offer to take a photo for someone.🤳 (Watch the video for the full breakdown!) But wait—there’s more. Here’s how to really stand out: 1/ Get them talking about their interests: ↳ “What’s the most exciting project you’re working on now?” 2/ Be the connector in the room: ↳ “I know someone in that industry. Want an intro?” 3/ Leave them with something they won’t forget: ↳ “Fun fact: Did you know most great business ideas come from casual conversations like these?” Networking isn’t about forcing connections. It’s about making real ones. And, it starts with you stepping out... from behind your phone. --- Repost ♻ to help your network, network! ➕ Follow Shulin Lee for more career insights.

5 tactics to improve your networking (part 1) I don't hide the fact that I am pro in networking 😎. Every single person on my way can turn into either good connection for personal or career purposes. My tips are below 📌 : 1. Identify the goal: who do you want to connect with and what is the purpose? Expanding client base, find career opportunities, find likewise community or? 2. Sounds obvious but yes - actively attend networking events let it be exhibition, conference, training etc (keep in mind your goal). 3. Prepare clear self introduction: don't murmur about yourself, but clearly let others understand your professional and social roles and what service you provide or how you can be useful in the future. 4. Proactive active listening and empathy. I met a lot of people who only talk about themselves, mind the balance in conversations. 5. Follow Up: don't forget to follow up after networking events. Personalized message or email is good enough to show interest in further conversation. Are you good in networking? What's your favorite way of it? 🤓

I spent my entire career avoiding networking and it hurt me Networking felt fake and I often viewed peers as my competition But I just didn't know what networking really was Last summer I publicly made a declaration to change and work on building my network the right way. Building a network is not a fast process I feel for everyone constantly being told to just network their way into a job with advice like "message the hiring manager" Nothing is wrong with messaging people at a company about a job, but that is NOT networking. For a lot of people, networking may not be the answer to your current job search, but it is worth the time now for the future career impact it can have. Keep focusing on growing a network, it will be worth it This is networking: Connecting with someone like Leah Dillon almost a year ago out of a mutual interest in each other's work in the same industry getting to know each other and becoming professional friends over the time. Eventually getting to meet as coworkers at a company meeting. Networking is getting to know someone who you know you can always bounce thoughts off of and can form a genuine connection with. Just understand what most people tell you is networking is a short term play with little immediate impact. That doesn't mean it's not worth the time to get to know new people.

Day 4 🙌 📚 Determine what you want to achieve through networking. Clarifying your objectives will guide your networking efforts. 👬 Don't limit your network to individuals who are similar to you. Cultivate relationships with people from diverse backgrounds, industries, and perspectives. A diverse network can offer fresh insights and opportunities. . . 🏌♂️ Take the initiative to reach out and connect with others. Don't wait for opportunities to come to you; actively seek them out. 👩💼 Attend networking events, join professional organizations, and participate in online discussions to expand your network. 💪 Building a strong network takes time and effort. Focus on nurturing long-term relationships rather than seeking immediate gains. Invest in maintaining connections even when you don't need anything specific. . . 🤝 Building a valuable network is a gradual process that requires patience and persistence. 😇 God will send your "Angel Partners" These partnerships simply want to bless you, they want to help you acheive your goals, they truly desire to see you win. They have no hidden agenda. These individuals will pray for your success and will not covet your gift not want what you have. They understand your oil is expensive!!

Networking involves building and maintaining relationships with individuals, groups, or organizations for mutual benefit. In a professional context, it allows you to exchange information, support each other’s goals, and potentially open doors to new opportunities. Effective networking is built on trust, respect, and mutual benefit. Here are a few strategies to improve your networking skills: 1. Be Intentional: Have clear objectives when attending networking events or connecting with people. Know who you want to meet and why. 2. Give Before You Take: Offer value to your network before asking for help. This could be through sharing knowledge, making introductions, or offering support. 3. Follow-Up: After initial contact, follow up with a message or email. This helps in nurturing long-term relationships. 4. Be Authentic: People respond better to genuine connections. Show interest in others’ work, and be transparent about your own goals and interests. 5. Leverage Social Media: Platforms like LinkedIn are valuable for maintaining and expanding your network, especially in a professional setting.

The essence of networking cannot be overemphasized. Networking is a vital aspect of both personal and professional development. It goes beyond exchanging contact information; it involves building genuine, mutually beneficial relationships. A strong network opens doors to new opportunities, provides access to knowledge and resources, and raises visibility within an industry. Whether through professional circles, social interactions, or online platforms, effective networking can support career advancement, personal growth, and collaboration. To network effectively, it's important to be authentic, maintain regular contact, and offer value to others. Networking is not just about gaining; it's about giving and building lasting connections. Mistakes like focusing on quantity over quality or neglecting follow-ups should be avoided. Ultimately, a strong network serves as a support system, offering guidance, opportunities, and partnerships that can significantly impact one's success.

Making Friends and Finding Opportunities Networking means making friends and connections with people who have similar interests or goals. It's not just about meeting people at events; it's about getting to know them and working together. Whether you're starting your career, starting a business, or still in school, networking can help you find new opportunities. Connecting with Others Networking helps you meet new people who can help you in your career or personal life. You can meet people at events, join groups, or connect with them online. By talking to others and showing what you're good at, you can build relationships and make friends who can support you. Finding New Opportunities Networking can help you find job openings, get advice, or learn about new things happening in your industry. By talking to people and being friendly, you can find opportunities you might not have known about otherwise. Building Relationships Networking is more than just meeting people; it's about building relationships. This means being nice, listening to others, and helping each other out. By being a good friend and supporting others, you can build strong relationships that last a long time. Tips for Success To make the most of networking, set goals for yourself and try to meet people who can help you reach those goals. Go to events, join groups, and talk to people online. After you meet someone, follow up with them and keep in touch. Look for ways to help each other out and work together. Enjoy the Journey Networking is a journey, not a destination. It's about meeting new people, learning new things, and growing as a person. Enjoy the experience and have fun meeting new friends and finding new opportunities along the way.

Networking, networking, networking! I've found the importance of networking is undeniable, but not everyone utilizes a networking strategy. The One-Third Rule creates a balanced approach in building a dynamic network. ↪ One-Third Ahead: Connect with mentors & leaders who are 10+ years ahead of you. They can leverage their expertise & vast network to help you accelerate your career. ↪ One-Third Alongside: Spend time with your colleagues! The people who are working the same roles as you. These connections allow you to share industry best practices & creates a sense of community in your current environment. ↪ One-Third Behind: Engage with those coming up behind you. Sharing your journey aids their growth & rejuvenates your perspective with fresh ideas. Ultimately, how you quantify your 1/3 strategy rests on you (e.g. building 9 new connections with 3 of them falling in each bucket)! The One Third Rule is about creating meaningful connections that enrich your professional life & allows you to have a positive impact on others. By embracing this approach, you ensure that your network is not just a collection of contacts, but rather a diverse community contributing to mutual growth. 👉🏼 Quick call to action: Start by identifying one person in each category you'd like to connect with this week. Set a clear goal for each interaction–whether it's seeking advice, offering help, or simply sharing experiences. The quality of these interactions is what truly matters 😊 💥 Tag someone that you’ve networked with that has had a profound impact on your career!
