I read that your focus and activity is on simplifying #immersiveaudio content creation & delivery for broadcasters while ensuring that there is no reduction of access or quality for the listeners. #publicmediavalues & #betteraudioforall 🔊 I’ve been trying to understand how to remove barriers on the consumption side. Specifically, dynamic switching between available mixes. That way the audio experience can be optimized for the listener, independent of proprietary formats or specific hardware. #publicmediavalues & #betteraudioforall 🎧 As you mentioned in a previous post, the availability of mixes now available to the audience, via apps or portals, escapes the bandwidth hurdle we faced in previous years. Therefore, as #binauralaudio is essentially available to any pair of headphones, via SOFA for example, the opportunity to use various #immersiveaudio mixes and respective profiles becomes easier (with or without head tracking). Accordingly, I as a listener should have the ability to switch in and out of immersive listening profiles, depending on my listening environment and preferences, regardless of hardware or subscription service. #immersiveaudioforall My current weekend exploration is to understand how mix profiles overlap and might be optimized to reduce the number of mixes & storage that need to be produced to provide “enough” mix options. Or, whether or not #binaural mixes could be automated. I’m imagining it as a reverse sofa of sorts. Perhaps a bit esoteric, but fun, nonetheless. I would love to hear more about implementing “immersive listener experiences” with 🎛️ROAD streaming @DAVID. Count me in on participating and appreciating a next-level audio culture too!
