Today is World Water Day 💧 #Water is one of the most precious #resources on our planet. Only 2.5% of the water on earth is fresh water. Only a small part is really accessible for us humans, namely 0.3% (in lakes, rivers and dams). The necessary focus on the conservation and protection of our water resources ensures a constant optimization regarding the use and disposal of water in industry. The machine solutions developed by SIEBTECHNIK TEMA for Zero Liquid Discharge (#ZLD) projects are used in many industrial sectors to clean or recycle process water and to recover valuable substances from wastewater. To improve the environmental performance of industrial plants, ZLD is used in a wide range of industries, such as power generation, #Pharma, steel or (petro) #chemicalindustry. The solid-liquid separation is the crucial last step in most ZLD processes, because here the remaining water is separated from the solid, in most cases salts. Dewatering is usually done with decanters, SHORTBOWL decanters, pusher centrifuges and CONTURBEX centrifuges. WATER TREATMENT 💧: Sulzer's Nordic Water Products has launched its new DynaBelt filter to deliver energy efficient primary filtration in a compact package. Designed for maximum hydraulic flow and occupying just 10% of the space needed for an equivalent sedimentation tank, the DynaBelt offers municipal water treatment works the ability to reliably improve throughput within existing spaces, which is ideal for facilities in built up areas. As the filter collects suspended solids and head loss occurs, low consumption internal spray bars activate and water is moved to the integrated backwash system. A highly controlled hot water flush also eliminates fat, oil and grease from the filter without the need for chemicals.
