Burning Heroes Africa Startup Awards Contest 2024    Applications are open for the Burning Heroes Africa Startup Awards Contest 2024. The competition is a part of Burning Heroes Founders Association's mission to equalize access to global opportunities for talented founders. All Associations' events are collaborative and non-profit and called to connect founders with investors, media, and experts.     The inaugural BH Africa Startup Awards in 2023 was a testament to the thriving entrepreneurial spirit on the continent, showcasing over 80+ Startups across the continent. A panel of distinguished judges from top-tier tech companies and venture capital firms, such as Meta, AWS, Flat6 Labs, Savant, Plug and Play. Katapult, Starta VC etc., carefully evaluated and recognized 9 standout startups out of the shortlisted 30. CALL FOR APPLICATIONS | Early Stage African Startup Founders Invited to Apply to 8-Week Accelerate Africa Program Early-stage startup entrepreneurs across the continent are invited to submit their applications for the second iteration of Accelerate Africa, an accelerator that wants to fill the gap left by retreating global investors such as Y Combinator across #Africa. Accelerate Africa will be looking for founders with lived experience, solving the kinds of problems that can become global businesses. As reported by BitKE in 2023, the Y Combinator’s S22 batch featured merely eight African startups, marking a 63% decrease from the preceding cohort (W22) which had a record 24 African startups. In the most recent W23 cohort, only three startups from Africa were included, representing the lowest number in recent years. https://lnkd.in/dahrPg4T

Congratulations 🥳to our distinguished Pathfinders who got accepted into the Timboktoo Fintech Accelerator Program timbuktoo Africa The Timbuktoo African innovation fund is an initiative of the UNDP in collaboration with government and private sectors across Africa to invest in Africa’s top talent. Among the 800+ submissions from 47 countries, 42 startups from 31 countries were selected. Among these 42 startups, 2 startups, are from our very own Oluwaseun Sokeye Periculum (Periculum Technologies) And Nyekachi Wihioka CashEx The programme will offer Startup founders: 1. Mentorship and coaching from Africa’s leading industry experts and seasoned entrepreneurs. 2. Equity-free funding of up to $25,000 USD to support the startups growth. 3. Access to a network of fellow startup founders and entrepreneurs from across the African continent. 4. A platform to connect with and access potential investors as well as customers. 5. GET Accelerated Program Launches Third Cohort to Boost African Startups With N10 Million Prize The GET Accelerated Program, in partnership with Kick-off Africa, has launched its third cohort, targeting startups across Nigeria to become scalable businesses capable of withstanding market shifts and policy changes. Initiative Overview Led by the Grooming Endowment Trust (GET), a nonprofit organization established in August 2020, the initiative provides grants, mentorship, resources, and networking opportunities to aid startups in developing Minimum Viable Products (MVPs). Building on the success of its two previous cohorts, where 20 startups received over N150 million in funding and resources, the program focuses on a market-driven approach and supports startups in sectors like healthtech and edtech. https://lnkd.in/dVfF4QJj
