The 2024 #UKGivingReport from Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) estimates that the UK public donated £13.9B to charity last year—up £1.2B from 2022—as part of its mapping of generosity across the country. For the first time, the #CAF #UKGivingReport reveals the country’s generosity hotspots! We’ve mapped our research along the new parliamentary constituency boundaries to see how different areas support charities. Our interactive map lets you explore these results, showing you how many people in your area donated in 2023, how much your local area donated as a whole, and how generous people in your area are – compared to household incomes. Connecting charities and public sector organisations with their communities by improving communication | PR Strategy | Comms Campaigns | Stakeholder Engagement | Crisis Comms
The televised Children in Need and Comic Relief fundraisers are often reflective of more general giving trends. Even in times of great financial strain, people are incredibly generous; the total raised from this year's Children in Need was £33.5 million. A new giving report from Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) has prompted headlines today. The Guardian has reported that "the British public donated record £13.9bn to charity last year. Average monthly donations rose by nearly 40% to £65 with poorest areas among the most generous." So far, so positive, but CAF's UK Giving report highlights areas of concern too, such as a drop in the number of people regularly donating to charity. For me, this report reinforces the need to keep trying different ways to engage audiences, particularly younger people. That means experimentation, which doesn't sit well with more risk averse organisations. There may be a cost to trying something new, but it's perhaps not as costly as the alternative. See what you think. The CAF UK Giving report is available here: https://lnkd.in/eDZickcJ

The British public contributed £1.2 billion more to charities last year than in 2022, raising the total donations to an impressive £13.9 billion. This significant increase, achieved amidst notable household financial pressures, showcases the UK’s generosity. However, our latest #UKGivingReport also casts light on pressing challenges: ♦️ There are fewer people regularly donating to charity compared to before the pandemic. ♦️ The real value of the typical charity donation is being outstripped by inflation. ♦️ The growth in the total donation amount is down to fewer individuals giving higher amounts, rather than an increase in participation. This underscores the need for a renewed focus on widening the donor base and ensuring that the generosity of the UK public continues to grow in both depth and breadth. Today is the United Nations' International Day of Charity, a great time to start conversations about the benefits (to everyone!) of connecting with charitable causes. Supporting charities doesn’t just help those in need; it also brings huge value to the companies and people involved. It creates a real sense of pride and positivity, bringing teams together and building stronger relationships within the business. Getting involved in charity work also helps shape a culture of empathy and shared responsibility. When employees feel more connected to a cause, it boosts motivation, productivity, and team spirit – all while making a positive difference in the community. Many of our clients, including The Openwork Partnership through its foundation, regularly raise money for great causes and have a lot of fun doing it! Whether it's charity runs, volunteer days, or fundraising events, these activities not only support important causes but also boost team morale and engagement. Partnering with charities creates meaningful experiences that strengthen community spirit, bring people together, and leave a lasting impact. What’s not to like about that? #sustainability #socialresponsibility #internationaldayofcharity
We want to mark United Nations International Day of Charity by saying a huge thank you to everyone who has helped raise funds for, volunteered and donated to The Openwork Foundation in 2024 so far. There is still time to get involved. Email the Foundation team on foundation@theopenworkpartnership.com to find out how. #proudlymakingadifference #InternationalDayofCharity Lisa Willingham Abi Hart Alex Davies

Studies have found that 85% of people who volunteered at a #nonprofit also donated. So, how is your organization presenting quality engagement opportunities to key donors and major gift prospects? You must allocate time to create meaningful and individualized experiences that align with donors' ambitions. There might be a cost to do it, but there’s certainly a cost if you don’t. #fridayfacts #fundraising #donorengagement

Please take a moment to learn more about how you can support the organization I started with Claire Campion.
As a part of this year GlobalGiving LittlexLittle Campaign, donations up to $50 made on our GlobalGiving page will be matched by 50%. This is a great opportunity to see your donation go even further- for example, a $10 donation becomes $15 during this #Globalgiving special matching campaign! 2023 was a difficult year for non-profits organizations in Athens as several important organisations were forced to close their doors and more people felt the brunt of insecurity about their future in Greece. In this difficult landscape, there are few places where people can go for solace. The Fáilte Centre is a safe space in the heart of Athens for people of all nationalities, languages and genders. Our target is to raise €1000 to support with essential costs, so we can continue to offer our programming in Athens, Greece.
