Krueger flap operation: Krueger flaps are high lift devices that are fitted to all or part of the leading edge of the wings of some aircraft types. As the opening of slat or leading edge flaps might not fill the gap between wing root and fuselage, the Krueger flap is opened to fill the gap and improve aerodynamic characteristics. A flap is a high-lift device used to reduce the stalling speed of an aircraft wing at a given weight. Flaps increase the camber, and sometimes the area, of your wing. LM Guide Model SR are used in the seat sliding mechanism of small aircraft. Because the floors in aircraft are generally made from sheet metal, measuring errors relating to mounting sections are common, and mounting can be a lengthy process. From a recent trip. What do these two aircraft have in common, besides taking peculiar people to peculiar places? 👀 Both the 737-600 and the 747SP have larger tails than their original base models to counter assymetric thrust in an engine-out scenario. The 736 has the new, big engines on the original small -200 fuselage, and the 747SP has the original engines on a shorter fuselage.

The folding wing tip actuation system, which we developed for the Boeing #777X familiy, makes it possible. The larger #wingspan increases fuel #efficiency of the aircraft. On the ground, however, the tips of the wings fold simply, reducing the wingspan from 71.8 metres to 64.9 metres. This allows the 777X to use the same airport gates as all other 777s, a great convenience for #airlines and passengers. Citation CJ family AD on winglets The FAA this week adopted a previously proposed #airworthiness directive (AD) ordering the installation of placards & #airplane flight manual (AFM) changes for Cessna Aircraft Company Citation CJ family #jets equipped with Tamarack Aerospace active technology load alleviation system (Atlas) winglets. The #directive was prompted by a report of the potential for a failure of certain system components in which a loss of load alleviation would be annunciated. Tamarack’s Atlas modifies CitationJet/ CJ1, CJ2, & CJ3-series models with winglets & the active camber surfaces (TACS), which actuate during #flight to reduce the increased load on the wings caused by the winglets. Approximately 200 #aircraft which equates to about 10% of the eligible #CitationJet/ CJ fleet have Tamarack Aerospace Group winglets installed. Within 60 hrs of time in service, or six months from Oct. 22, 2024, placards must be installed by an A&P mechanic or repair station on the left-hand inboard edge of the TACS to enhance visibility of their movement during night operations or to provide contrast if the TACS are painted a dark color. It also requires revising the AFM to include instructions for #preflight checks of Atlas before taxi. The AD was proposed after the company voluntarily notified the #FAA that during a periodic design review, it found an Atlas failure mode that would not be annunciated to the #pilot. If one of a pair of opto-isolators in the Atlas control unit fails, this would prevent an enable signal from being sent to the TACS control unit, thus preventing the TACS from operating & not providing load alleviation for the winglets. #Pilots must know if the TACS aren’t working because they would need to reduce speed to prevent overloading of the #wings & potentially exceeding the limit load. The FAA has determined that the unsafe condition is “likely” to exist or develop on other products of the same type design. The company said the probability of the unsafe condition is “remote” & not “likely” & therefore using “likely” misrepresents the probability of the identified unsafe condition occurring in the fleet. However in disagreement, the agency said the “FAA’s Determination” section of the proposal correlates to its finding under FAR 39.5, which states the conditions that must be present when the FAA issues an AD. #businessjet’s are awesome! #bizjet #bizav https://lnkd.in/d7bRTPHm
