Are you travelling to Europe on holiday? Please read this. I have been amazed lately by the amount of stories being covered in the press about people falling foul of the new passport requirements for travel to Europe since we left the EU. This information has been published many times yet people are still getting it wrong and are being turned away at the airport or cruise terminal. So here is the advice taken from the ABTA website. Please take a minute to read and SHARE with anyone you know who is going on holiday to Europe. With the UK no longer a Member of the European Union (EU), the following requirements now apply to British passport holders when travelling to countries in the EU (except Ireland), as well as Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino or Vatican City. Your passport must be: Issued less than 10 years before the date you enter the country (so check the ‘date of issue’) Valid for at least three months after the day you plan to leave (so check the ‘date of expiry’). For example, if you are entering the EU on 20 July 2024 and returning to the UK on 3 August 2024, your passport must: Have been issued less than 10 years before 20 July 2024. Be valid for at least three months after 3 August 2024. If your current passport was issued before 1 October 2018, you might have had extra months from your previous passport added to its expiry date. These extra months do count towards the required three months that you will need on your passport on the day you plan to leave, but it does mean that it’s even more important to check that your passport will also be less than 10 years old on the date you enter the EU. If you’re travelling with children, don’t forget that British passports for under 16s are only valid for five years. This means they will automatically meet the first rule of being issued less than 10 years before entering the EU, so you just need to check it will meet the second rule – that it will be valid for at least three months after the day you plan to leave. If you’re travelling to Ireland, you can continue to use your passport as long as it’s valid for the length of your stay. It is YOUR responsibility to make sure your passport meets the country you are visiting requirements. Where ever you are going in the world not just Europe you MUST check you are adhering to their entry requirements which can go beyond passport requirements. Of course by using my service I will help to answer any questions you may have on this subject. One of the many advantages of my service. #passport #passportrequirements #europepassports #Travelconsultant #notjusttravel

What to Put as the US Point of Contact Information on an ESTA Application. https://lnkd.in/eQDGK83f The ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) is a mandatory requirement for citizens of Visa Waiver Program countries who want to visit the United States for tourism or business purposes for up to 90 days. One of the key pieces of information required on the ESTA application is the US point of contact information—which stumps many travelers and tourists without close ties to the US. So what exactly should you put in this section?

Big news for travelers planning a UK visit! Starting soon, many visitors who don’t need a visa for short stays will require an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), a new measure enhancing travel security by pre-approving travelers before they arrive. Non-European visitors can apply for their ETA beginning November 27, 2024, with the requirement taking effect on January 8, 2025. European travelers can apply starting March 5, 2025, and will need an ETA from April 2, 2025. For Gulf Cooperation Council visitors, this requirement is already in place. Each ETA costs £10 and allows multiple entries over two years or until your passport expires. For more details or to apply, visit the GOV.UK ETA page. Visa-free travel has long been a major perk for passport holders from countries like the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and across Europe. It allows travelers to explore the world without needing to secure a visa beforehand. However, recent changes are reshaping the traditional idea of visa-free travel. With the introduction of travel authorizations like ETAs (Electronic Travel Authorizations) and similar systems, travelers must now apply for permission before embarking on their journey, diminishing the “pure” visa-free experience. https://lnkd.in/gwti3ghE

My top 10 Common Mistakes Tourists Make and How to Avoid Them 5. Forgetting Visa and Passport Requirements Imagine arriving at your dream destination, only to be denied entry because your travel documents are not in order. Unfortunately, this is a common oversight that can have disastrous consequences. A friend of mine faced such a predicament recently. They had planned an exciting family holiday, but upon arrival at the airport, they were turned away because his passport had less than six months’ validity remaining. In another instance, a couple was eagerly looking forward to their anniversary trip to an exotic destination. They had everything planned meticulously, but they overlooked the visa requirements. Upon reaching the airport, they discovered that they needed a visa for entry, which they had not arranged in advance. Their trip was ruined, and they had to go through the cumbersome process of applying for an emergency visa, which not only cost them additional money but also cut their holiday short. These examples underscore the importance of double-checking your visa requirements and ensuring your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates. This is where a travel expert can be invaluable. A travel expert can ensure you have all the necessary information and documentation well in advance, providing peace of mind and preventing such unfortunate situations. Tips to avoid these pitfalls: Check Visa Requirements: Know what is needed for your destination. Verify Passport Validity: Ensure your passport is valid for six months beyond your stay. Keep Document Copies: Have photocopies of your passport and visa. Consult Travel Resources: Stay updated on entry requirements. By taking these steps and consulting a travel expert, you can avoid unnecessary stress and enjoy your travels. Safe journeys! ✈️ https://lnkd.in/et9VqKQr Forgetting Visa and Passport Requirements #TravelTips #TravelExpert #VisaRequirements #PassportValidity #Travel #MrsS #travelcounsellors

Do you need freedom of travel with a new passport? In 2024, holders of some passports will find travelling increasingly tricky. The US, EU, Canada, and other developed countries launched their pre-registration visa systems to make your life difficult. Are you holding a passport that requires visas to enter the EU or the US? Let's look at the details and how we can help you at Discuss Holdings to help you travel wherever you want to. What about entry into the European Union or the US? Remember, you must register to travel to the European Union from October 2024 to early 2025. What is ETIAS? ETIAS stands for the European Travel Information and Authorization System. It's a new electronic system created by the European Union to strengthen border security and streamline the European entry process for travellers from countries that currently don't require a visa for short stays, such as the United States and Canada. ETIAS will require eligible travellers to obtain an online authorization before travelling to any Schengen Area country. It aims to enhance security by pre-travel screening for potential security risks or irregularities. What is the ESTA of the United States of America? ESTA stands for Electronic System for Travel Authorization. It's an automated system, which has been in operation since 2008, that determines the eligibility of visitors to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). The VWP allows citizens of certain countries to travel to the US for tourism, business, or transit purposes for 90 days or less without obtaining a traditional visa. However, travellers must obtain approval through ESTA before boarding a carrier to travel to the US by air or sea. ESTA collects biographic information and answers eligibility questions to determine whether an individual can travel to the United States under the VWP. It enhances security by identifying individuals who may pose a risk before they board an aircraft or vessel bound for the US. So, how can you enter developed countries if your passport does not qualify? We at Doiscus Holdings Ltd have more than 25 years of experience helping you obtain a residency permit or a passport that is eligible to enter anywhere. We need to know your plans and circumstances to create the best, fastest and most affordable path to reach your freedom of travel. We have to talk about the details. Do you need a new passport or a residency permit to travel? Do you want to be a citizen of another country, or is it enough to be able to visit it and travel around? What about your finances? Do you want to pay taxes in your home country, your new country, or elsewhere? Please get in touch with us for a consultation; our experts are waiting to support your plans. #travel #freedom #discusholdings

This very timely article from Conde Nast Traveler about passports could NOT be more important information to know!! Highlights: *The best rule of thumb is to start the renewal process well ahead of the expiration date printed on your passport. “We advise travelers to apply 6-9 months ahead of travel or their passport’s expiration date,” says the State Department spokesperson. *Right now, standard passport applications are taking 10 to 13 weeks to process; expedited applications, which cost an extra $60, are taking seven to nine weeks. *Also keep in mind that many countries require a passport to have at least six months of validity from the day you arrive, the typical length of a tourist visa. (You can check if your destination has this requirement on the country's page of State Department’s website.) https://lnkd.in/e8hYpHVF
