Watèa by Michelin extends services to include #hydrogen mobility Fleet transition specialist Watèa by Michelin, which provides battery and hydrogen #electricvehicles, infrastructure and support for a monthly subscription, has unveiled a new hydrogen service, an all-in-one solution to support the #decarbonization of professional vehicle fleets. The service is designed to enable Watèa clients to take advantage of the benefits of hydrogen mobility, with hydrogen vehicles offering greater autonomy and quicker charging times than battery electric vehicles. CEO and president Pascal Nouvellon said, "After a lengthy test and development phase, Watèa is poised to offer its hydrogen electric vehicle service, in conjunction with the offer it launched in 2021 for battery electric vehicles, which will continue to exist and to expand. "Indeed, hydrogen electric vehicles enable users to bypass some of the constraints associated with battery vehicles – their autonomy is greater, but, more importantly, charging times are drastically reduced.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gsTUN9-K #Automotive #Powertrain #PowertrainMag #Engineering #AutomotiveEngineering #AutomotiveDesign #Sustainability #ElectricVehicles #EV #Testing #Technology #Transportation #AutoTestExpo #GACS

My posts here have been a wee bit intermittant recently due to workload. However, as I catch my breath and survey the Scottish e-mobility landscape, there a few bits of news that I thought would be worth sharing with you in case you missed them. ➡ FirstGroup Energy makes £1m investment in KleanDrive Ltd ⚡️KleanBus Ltd - https://lnkd.in/eWtEJgx3 This is important news. I know the team at KleanDrive well and over the last couple of years, they've made really positive strides in building a client base for their bus repowering solution. This annoucement comes off the back of Kleanbus striking a deal with Lothian Buses so overall good news for Scotland's e-mobility sector. ➡ Transform Scotland announce five steps to deliver 20% traffic reduction https://lnkd.in/ePiKnntv In summary, the 5 steps are as follows: 1⃣ Publish and deliver a car traffic reduction route map 2⃣ Reinstate the Bus Partnership Fund 3⃣ Follow through on active travel commitments 4⃣ Roll out flat-fare ticketing 5⃣ Halt all road-building programmes These are policy actions rather than technology developments but nonetheless relevant as achieving some/all of these will require innovation interventions of varying sizes and flavours. ➡ Commissioned by Transport Scotland, the team at the Centre for Sustainable Road Freight at Heriot-Watt University which is led by Phil Greening, has identified the hot spots where electric vehicle infrastructure is required to support zero emission heavy goods vehicles. https://lnkd.in/etV9VHfk I was involved in the early discussions between TS and HW so good to see this report finally released. The HW team have access to a wealth of route info collected via telematics data supplied by major freight operators. In summary, the investment case for charging infrastructure for battery electric HGVs is currently a lot easier to make than the one for hydrogen. Both technologies are discussed in the report. #transportpolicy #repowering #emobility #scotland

#Dutch Solar car company Squad Mobility has been granted €1,35 million as part of a as part of a €12 million tender won by the GIANTS consortium. Squad Mobility was founded in 2019 by Robert Hoevers and Chris Klok. Both are former Lightyear employees with a long track record in the motorcycle and automotive industries. Its created The SQUAD, a compact and affordable solar car that charges itself on direct #solarenergy through an integrated #solarpanel on the roof. The vehicle’s solar panel charges up to 22 km extra range on sunny days in the #Netherlands. The four swappable and portable batteries provide a range of 100 km, excluding solar. It retails for a mere $6250 (excl. tax) and can be pre-ordered. The company has also developed a distributed #Microfactory concept in which the SQUAD will be assembled in factories worldwide, in local markets close to customers. In this way, #transportation costs and environmental impact can be minimised through efficient flat-pack supply chain logistics while combining the assembly with a local spare parts storage and hub. Additionally, local supply of components will be sought and increased. GIANTS is a €12 million-funded Horizon Europe project that aims to provide affordable and accessible mobility solutions to both emerging and advanced markets. Specifically, GIANTS aims to develop frugal (economical, without excessive features) vehicles / mobility solutions based on user demand. A plan for a complete transformation of the European / global economy - energy, agriculture & food and the green transformation of SMEs and industry. Our guiding principle is independence.
Part 20 - TECT-M/Plan for the World / Promotion of e-mobility for all by the local operating sites type 30.5 FIO-SYNERGIE and SYNERGIE PARK PROMOTING E-MOBILITY FOR ALL THROUGH THE LOCAL OPERATING SITES TYPE 30.5 FiO-SYNERGIE and SYNERGIE PARK SITUATION Excerpt from SPIEGEL article: My house, my wallbox, my e-car - affordable electric driving seems to be a privilege for the few. (...) So far, politicians and industry seem to be concentrating on this already privileged target group. But if 15 million electric cars really are to be on Germany's roads by 2030, as the German government promises, the residents of multi-party houses must also be more closely involved in this plan. OUR SOLUTION Fast-charging parks for electric cars with low electricity generation costs and no grid costs with an imputed tariff of less than 10 cents/kWh as part of the local operating sites 30.5 FiO-SYNERGY and SYNERGY PARK. In the model calculation, a 30.5 FiO production plant supplies an average of around 2,000 inhabitants. Most of these are a central component of the local 30.5 FiO-SYNERGY and SYNERGY PARK operating sites. By comparison, there are 5,763 people per filling station in Germany and 3,264 in Austria. If hydrogen and e-fuels are also produced at the respective location, the price difference due to conversion and efficiency losses compared to direct electricity from the plant is immediately apparent to citizens. COMPARISON WITH CURRENT SOLUTIONS The blind spot of electromobility can be eliminated, and not only that, a more cost-effective e-mobility or mobility based on external energy in general is hardly possible. The common thread running through all the successive articles is our PLAN FOR GLOBAL ENERGY AND CLIMATE CHANGE BY 2050 - an estimated 60 in 20 days. We divide our plan into the individual tasks or task clusters, for which we write a short blog post (reading time 1 to 2 minutes) in which we describe our solution and/or answer a relevant question and draw a comparison with current solutions.
