If you conduct a community needs assessment, and find your patron population is interested in collections and services your library already provides, refer to your circulation, programming, and usage numbers. You may find that the 'gap' is not in the variety of resources offered, but in communicating those resources to your service population. Ensure your library is communicating programs, services, and other updates as proactively as possible. Even in 2024, rural areas still use word of mouth, and something as simple as flyers to communicate local information. It may be worthwhile to pin a flyer highlighting your library's services and programs to the corkboard in your town hall! #communityoutreach #rurallibraries #library #development #libraryoutreach
