The Fisherman’s House, nestled along the harbour in Birchgrove, Sydney, is a richly layered family home, embedded into the stone of its site. Restored and opened into a place for understated living, the cottage creates continuity between the old and the new, retaining and celebrating the original weatherboard cottage used by fishermen. The kitchen forms the heart of the home, with smoked oak and matt black providing a refined contrast to the texture of the retained timber flooring. Featuring joinery that seamlessly intertwines elegance with functionality, the kitchen’s freestanding design, integrated with Gaggenau appliances, allows the architecture to breathe and complement the structure's refined aesthetic. Good structure calculation, I would like to add a few more pillars to wasted all the space. Seems calculated the wider of the beams is same difficult as send a rocket to Mars. Anyway, the furniture impeccable, a pity will not created a real life usage volume to enjoy the awesome furniture and appliances. But is cool on pictures without people on it. Congratulations! 🍾🎈
