We're excited to showcase our Evo Max System, a standout innovation developed in collaboration with Ignite Architects on a schooling project. The goal? Achieving a C5 occupancy rating — the highest safety loading, ideal for environments like schools, malls, and other high-traffic spaces prone to overcrowding. Driven by feedback and our commitment to safety, we identified a genuine market need and made Evo Max a standard offering within the Spectrum System. Key features include: Steel posts replacing our standard aluminum for enhanced durability and safety. A visually cohesive design, resembling our Face Hung Fin, allowing seamless integration across mixed-use projects. At Spectrum, safety isn’t just a priority; it’s who we are. Evo Max is a testament to our dedication to setting new benchmarks in architectural systems.

The retractable roof of Toronto's Rogers Centre was actually completed in 1989. A marvel of engineering, one of the first stadiums with a fully retractable roof, it showed the world how architecture could merge with technology to create a multi-functional space. Made of four interlocking panels, takes 20 minutes to open or close, allowing the stadium to transition between indoor and outdoor environments. Why aren't such designs more widespread? The answer is their cost and complexity. Structures like this require significant upfront investment and intricate maintenance. However their potential benefits, adapting to unpredictable weather, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing the fan experience—make them invaluable. The roof's mechanics involve a computerized drive system with 54 drive motors moving over steel tracks. But like many innovations from the 1980s, it's starting to show its age. With advancements in materials, robotics, and sustainable design, now is the perfect time to reimagine such architectural feats for the modern era.
