Nharangga dhura (Narungga people) have used sophisticated land management practices for tens of thousands of years. Knowing where, when and how often to culturally gambadja (burn) their yarda (land) comes from an intimate connection and understanding. It encourages biodiversity through regeneration. It plays an important role in reducing scrub and fuel load, mitigating the effects of extreme bush fires. It is an important cultural practice connecting Nharangga dhura to Nharangga banggara (Narungga Country). The cultural revival of cool burning is an integral element in Narungga people caring for Country, and continuing cultural gardla (fire) knowledge practice. THE TREE, THE TIGER AND THE DRAGON I want to present and share here through this channel, a book that I have just published a few weeks ago: “The Tree, The Tiger and The Dragon”. It goes about my personal experience in the process of learning and developing Taijiquan (Tai Chi) and Qigong, two disciplines that I have spent more than half of my life practicing. In this personal approach I want to take the reader through my own journey sharing with him the impact that the practice of over forty years has had in all aspects of my everyday life. The subject of the practice of Taijiquan and Qigong in all its aspects is more vast and profound that one might suspect, so it is simply impossible to pretend to cover all its aspects in a theoretical way. This practice is something that is lived, that is done, an experience in which our physical, energetic and spiritual being is taking part. Something that cannot be explained by words only. Nevertheless, in this personal approach I talk about the basic principles and different concepts underlying the practice, not only in an abstract way, but combined with anecdotes and adventurous experiences that are related to the meaning of these typical abstract concepts; in this way I pretend to bring them closer to the reader’s skin, and allow them to feel the accessibility and the power of these ancient practices.
