TLDR: Save time and damage, charge the storm. Oftentimes in an effort to prevent conflict, hardship, or difficulties we avoid the elephant in the room, or to keep it on theme, the bison in the room. Avoidance, however, prolongs the time we spend resolving any issue and usually increases the amount of damage picked up on the way.
