💡 𝟒 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐦𝐲 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬! 💡
If you are an entrepreneur or just starting out, I am sure you might have learned your fair share of lessons at the beginning of your journey.
Well, mine was just like that. It was not an easy journey, but it was definitely rewarding and fulfilling.
So here are the 4 lessons that I focused on right from the beginning that helped me grow and succeed as an entrepreneur!
𝟏. 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭
I identified the target market, their needs, their pain points, and their goals right from the beginning because I knew I needed to start strong.
This lesson helped me to create a value proposition that resonated with them and differentiated me from the competition.
𝟐. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 & 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬
I realised that I needed to have efficient and effective systems in place to run our business smoothly.
And I also knew that I had to invest money to make money.
So, I invested in project management, conferencing, and social media tools that helped me to organise my work, communicate with my clients, and market my services.
𝟑. 𝐔𝐩 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞
In the beginning, I was tempted to slash my prices just to build our portfolio, or feel uneasy about charging market rates for my services.
But soon I learned that pricing is not only about the cost, but also about the value.
I started to charge what I was worth and the quality of services I was providing so the clients were willing to pay for the results I delivered.
𝟒. 𝐁𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞
Being an extremely disciplined person, this was a little tough for me to adapt but I learned that running a business is not a linear process, but a dynamic one.
I had to adapt to the market, to the clients, to our own goals, and for that, I had to be open to be flexible.
This has helped me combat many challenges and uncertainties along the way.
These are some of the lessons that shaped my first year in business.
And I think everyone will agree that the lessons you learn in the beginning, tend to stay with you for the longest time.
