[SpaceX Launching 24 Starlink Satellites From Florida On Monday] SpaceX plans to launch 24 more of its Starlink internet satellites from Florida's Space Coast on Monday (Nov. 11). A Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Starlink spacecraft is scheduled to lift off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Monday during a four-hour window that opens at 4:02 p.m. EST (2102 GMT). The launch had originally been planned for Sunday evening, but was delayed due to "unfavorable recovery weather conditions," according to SpaceX. SpaceX will webcast the launch live via X, beginning about five minutes before liftoff. If all goes to plan, the Falcon 9's first stage will come back to Earth for a vertical touchdown about eight minutes after liftoff on the droneship "A Shortfall of Gravitas," which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. It will be the 12th launch and landing for this particular booster, according to a SpaceX mission description. Five of its previous 11 flights were Starlink missions. The Falcon 9's upper stage, meanwhile, will continue carrying the 24 Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit (LEO), deploying them there about 65 minutes after liftoff. Monday's launch will follow on the heels of another Starlink mission, which lifted off from California's Vandenberg Space Force Base early on Saturday morning (Nov. 9). SpaceX has now launched 106 Falcon 9 missions in 2024. A Falcon 9 rocket carrying 23 Starlink spacecraft including 12 with direct-to-smartphone capability is scheduled to lift off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Monday during a 3.5-hour window that opens at 4:35 a.m. EST (0935 GMT). SpaceX will webcast the launch live via X, beginning about five minutes before launch. If all goes according to plan, the Falcon 9's first stage will return to Earth about eight minutes after liftoff, touching down on the droneship "Just Read the Instructions" in the Atlantic Ocean. It will be the 13th launch and landing for this particular booster, according to a SpaceX mission description. Six of its 12 flights to date have been Starlink missions. The Falcon 9's upper stage will continue hauling the 23 Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit; it's scheduled to deploy them there about 65 minutes after liftoff. Starlink is the largest satellite constellation ever built, consisting of more than 6,600 active spacecraft, according to satellite tracker and astrophysicist Jonathan McDowell. And the megaconstellation is growing all the time, as Monday morning's planned mission shows. A Falcon 9 rocket topped with the Starlink spacecraft lifted off from Florida's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 8:53 p.m. EDT (0053 GMT on May 13). The Falcon 9's first stage came back to Earth about 8 minutes after launch, touching down on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas, stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. It was the 15th launch and landing for this particular first stage, according to a SpaceX mission description. Nine of its 14 liftoffs to date have been Starlink missions. The Falcon 9's upper stage, meanwhile, carried the 23 Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit (LEO), deploying them there about 65 minutes after liftoff. Sunday's launch was the 49th orbital mission of 2024 already for SpaceX. Thirty-three of this year's 48 launches have been dedicated to building out the Starlink megaconstellation, which currently consists of about 5,900 working satellites. That number will likely continue growing far into the future; SpaceX has permission to deploy 12,000 Starlink satellites in LEO and has applied for approval for another 30,000 on top of that. SpaceX had been targeting Tuesday (Oct. 22) but called that try off due to weather concerns. The Falcon 9's first stage came back to Earth about eight minutes after liftoff as planned, landing on the SpaceX drone ship "A Shortfall of Gravitas" in the Atlantic Ocean. It was the 18th launch and landing for this particular booster, and its 13th Starlink mission overall, according to a SpaceX mission description. The Falcon 9's upper stage, meanwhile, continued hauling the Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit (LEO). It will deploy them there about 65 minutes after liftoff, if all goes to plan. SpaceX currently operates more than 6,400 Starlink satellites in LEO, according to astrophysicist and satellite tracker Jonathan McDowell. But that number is ever-growing, as today's launch shows. SpaceX has now conducted 99 Falcon 9 missions in 2024 so far, and more than two-thirds of them have been devoted to building out the Starlink megaconstellation. The Starlink satellites will lift off atop a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station during a two-hour window that opens at 4:46 p.m. EDT (2046 GMT). SpaceX had planned to launch the mission on Wednesday evening (June 12) but pushed the try back by about 24 hours. SpaceX will stream the action live via its account on X, beginning about five minutes before launch. The Falcon 9's first stage will come back to Earth about 8.5 minutes after launch, if all goes according to plan, landing on the droneship Just Read the Instructions in the Atlantic Ocean. It will be the 16th launch and landing for this particular booster, according to a SpaceX mission description. Ten of its 15 flights to date have been Starlink missions. The Falcon 9's upper stage, meanwhile, will continue carrying the 22 Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit, deploying them about 53 minutes after liftoff. SpaceX has launched 60 orbital missions so far in 2024, which works out to an average of one liftoff every 2.7 days. It was the second liftoff and touchdown for this particular booster, according to a SpaceX mission description. The Falcon 9's upper stage, meanwhile, successfully deployed the 23 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO) as planned. Sunday morning's launch was the 123rd Falcon 9 liftoff of the year. [SpaceX Launches Direct-to-Cell Starlink Satellites From California After Delay] SpaceX launched 20 more of its Starlink satellites tonight (July 11), including 13 with direct-to-cell capabilities. A Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Starlink spacecraft lifted off tonight from California's Vandenberg Space Force Base at 10:35 p.m. EDT (7:35 p.m. local California time; 0235 GMT on July 12). That was one day later than originally planned; SpaceX didn't give a reason for the slip. The Falcon 9's first stage returned to Earth as planned; it touched down about eight minutes after launch on the SpaceX droneship Of Course I Still Love You, which was stationed in the Pacific Ocean. It was the 19th launch and landing for this particular booster, according to a SpaceX mission description. The record for a Falcon 9 first stage is 22 flights, which SpaceX set late last month. The Falcon 9's upper stage continued hauling the 20 satellites to low Earth orbit tonight, where it will deploy them bout 59 minutes after liftoff. SpaceX has now conducted 69 Falcon 9 launches in 2024. Forty-nine of those missions have been devoted to building out the Starlink megaconstellation, which currently consists of more than 6,150 operational satellites. More than 100 of those spacecraft have direct-to-cell capability, but that number will continue to rise for the foreseeable future, as will the overall Starlink tally.
