Being a part of the Millennium Fellowship program has been an incredibly rewarding and empowering experience. It's not just about the projects or initiatives we undertake, but about the sense of community and purpose that comes with being surrounded by like-minded individuals who are passionate about creating positive change in the world. Finally, its hanging on my wall ! Pursuing a Questrom School of Business, Boston University MBA degree is something I can only imagine and aspire early in my career. Without a doubt, it is one and will always be one of the best decisions ever. This should serve as a reminder to me and to others of what one can accomplish if we set our minds into something. The 2-year journey was not without challenges to overcome. My family had to live in austerity due to family illnesses, among a few. Yes, no more deliverables while on the plane, no more capstone during business trip, no more meetings while in the E.R. (yes it happen), no more weekly reading to catch up, no more mid-week 4:00 AM live class. I will surely miss this learning journey with my #OMBA cohort and the outstanding faculty at #Questrom. I say Thank You! … for opening the windows of our minds to great thoughts and amazing ideas. The whole MBA program is just phenomenal. I will not go without mentioning the support of my family and my AS-Schneider Middle East family. Shout out to Umar Mukthar, and my friend, the late Tim Kohler for recommending and for really supporting all the way. Triumphing Through Trials: My Path to the Millennium Fellowship I want to share a story with you today, one that I hope will inspire and encourage you never to give up on your dreams and aspirations. It's a story of persistence, passion, and the relentless pursuit of change. In 2019, my journey with the Millennium Fellowship began when my dear friend Emmanuel Taiwo introduced me to this incredible opportunity. Taiwo is someone I've always known to have passion about social impact, tirelessly working towards creating positive change in his community and beyond. His unwavering dedication ignited a spark within me, a spark that would set me on a path of purpose. For two consecutive years, from 2021 through 2022, I pursued a dream of becoming a Millennium Fellow, with each application bringing both hope and disappointment. Today, I am thrilled and deeply honored to announce that persistence has paid off. I have been selected as a member of the Class of 2023 Millennium Fellows, representing the Federal University of Technology, Akure. This journey means joining a remarkable community of over 4,000 peers from 260+ campuses worldwide, all united by a shared commitment to create impactful social change. The path to this moment was challenging. The application process was highly competitive, with an astounding 44,000+ applicants from 3,000+ campuses across 119 nations. Out of these, only 260+ campuses (just 9%) were chosen to host 4,000+ Millennium Fellows in 2023. What makes this journey even more rewarding is the recognition as an Emerging Technologist for this year, a testament to the potential of technology in effecting change. This journey has taught me that dreams are worth pursuing, even in the face of adversity. Rejections and setbacks are not roadblocks but stepping stones on the path to success. I used the rejections and failures as stepping stones to learn from my mistakes and improve on each application. To all those facing challenges and chasing their dreams, I encourage you to keep pushing forward. The road may be tough, but your determination will light the way.
