Early orthodontic evaluations can make a significant difference in your child's oral health and development. Here’s why getting your child assessed by age 8 or 9 is so important: 1. Early Detection: Identifying potential orthodontic issues early allows for timely intervention, preventing more complex problems in the future. 2. Guide Jaw Growth: Early evaluations can help guide the growth of your child’s jaw, ensuring proper alignment and preventing future complications. 3. Correct Habits: Thumb sucking and tongue thrusting can affect dental development. Early assessment helps address these habits and their impact on teeth and jaw alignment. 4. Prevent Future Problems: Addressing issues early can reduce the need for extensive treatment later on, saving time, money, and discomfort. ☎️ 732-636-2828 Learn More: https://buff.ly/3HX5cAA . . #galkinorthodontics #braces #orthodonticevaluation

🫶Embracing an Orthodontic Recovery Plan🫶 Sometimes things dont always go to plan and you need to rethink strategy to overcome complications that can arise during orthodontic treatment. Our patient started treatment as a teenager with another orthodontic clinic. Four years of treatment was not working out 🅦🅔 🅝🅔🅔🅓 🅐 🅝🅔🅦 🅟🅛🅐🅝 The plan was to align her teeth and align the impacted upper canine (UR3). Initially things were going to plan, but after some time it was clear things were not happening as planned. The UR3 was no longer moving! - The UR3 was ankylosed (fused to the bone) - Instead of the canine erupting the entire upper arch started to intrude (lift up wards) leaving an extensive open bite and reducing the overall amount of tooth visible on smiling. When things don’t go to plan it’s important to pause - rethink - and recreate a new strategy and a 🅝🅔🅦 🅟🅛🅐🅝 This takes time for any clinician not least when you take over another colleague’s treatment but also patients need time to understand their complications and process the treatment options and limitations.

|| RETENTION || Retention is necessary following orthodontic treatment to prevent relapse of the final bite obtained. Relapse can occur as a result of forces around the teeth which tend to pull the teeth back towards their pre-treatment positions. It is therefore essential that patients understand the importance of wearing retainers after orthodontic treatment. 😁

Yesterday, I had a conversation with a patient who was unsure about the best way to fix his damaged tooth. He had heard about various treatments but wasn’t sure which one would be best for him. He said, "I've read about crowns, bridges, and fillings, but I don't know which one is right for me. Can you help?" And it struck me – many people feel the same way. They know there are options out there but are unsure about the benefits and which treatment is the right fit for their needs. Crowns are great for covering and protecting a damaged tooth, restoring its shape and strength. If you have a missing tooth, bridges can fill the gap beautifully, giving you a complete smile again. Fillings are perfect for repairing cavities and stopping further decay. Each option has its unique benefits and can greatly improve your dental health and confidence. It's not just about fixing a tooth; it’s about enhancing your overall well-being. Have you ever wondered which restorative treatment would be best for you? Or have you had a great experience with one of these treatments? Let’s share our stories and help each other make informed decisions! Comment below with your experiences or questions! If you're ready to explore your options, send me a message for a consultation, and let’s get started on your journey to a healthier, more confident smile! #DentalHealth #RestorativeDentistry #Crowns #Bridges #Fillings #OralHealth #SmileConfidently #HealthyTeeth PS: How much do you value your dental health?

Did you know there are TWO main types of tooth discoloration? 🦷🎨 As a dentist, I've noticed that many patients aren't aware of the difference between extrinsic and intrinsic stains. Let me break it down for you: 1. Extrinsic stains are surface-level and often caused by dark foods, drinks, and smoking. These stains are usually easier to remove with whitening treatments. 2. Intrinsic stains are deeper within the tooth structure and can result from aging, medications, or trauma. These stains can be more challenging to whiten. But here's my personal take: I categorize stains as either yellow or gray. Yellow stains are relatively easy to remove, while gray stains are more stubborn.
