As a Girl Dad and a husband to a successful entrepreneur, #WomensHistoryMonth holds a special place in my heart and home. Throughout this month, my wife and I have been reading short stories to our daughter, introducing her to impactful women from history. Our goal is to broaden her perspective, showing her the boundless possibilities of what she can achieve and emphasizing the immense power of women.
These conversations with my daughter have prompted me to reflect deeply. I stand before the mirror, asking myself, “How am I truly being an impactful ally and advocate for women from my position?”
Powerful women have always surrounded me—my mother, sister, grandmother, and close friends. I’ve witnessed their struggles, especially in the workplace. Fortunately, my career at Insight Global has allowed me to work in an environment that actively empowers and champions women’s growth. Our workforce comprises 70% women, and 65% of our leadership positions are held by remarkable women.
When the topic arises, I've always quickly raised my hand and declared proudly, “I am an ally!” But what does it truly mean to be an ally?
An ally is not just a label; it’s a verb, an action. It involves making conscious decisions every day—decisions aimed at uplifting the women around us. It means carrying that same energy even when they’re not in the same room.
With this understanding, I've decided to define my allyship and its impact. I commit to amplifying their voices, advocating for their rights, and fostering an inclusive environment where everyone thrives.
Let’s celebrate Women’s History Month by not only acknowledging the past but actively shaping a future where women continue to break barriers and lead with strength.
